I said a while back that he was pandering to an audience and if he gained power he'd dial it back pretty rapidly. This is in fact what has happened. I bet that I am the only person on here that knows a close friend who had a meeting with Trump. He described him as very charming but a snake oil salesman, which sounds about right to me.
