Are you inferring that this limited program would suffice in lieu of what PP offers women?

Local health departments, like school districts, maintain independent governance, but often work together, along with the state and federal public health agencies.

HD's offer the same things as PP...EXCEPT ABORTION REFERRALS. Allllllllllllllll the birth control there is FREE...depo shots, IUD's, bc pills, bc implants and condoms. A 12 year old girl can walk in there and they will give her whatever she wants and never be required to tell her parents.

That's some desperate rednecks!
I thought ,that's a Jewish neighborhood!

Yeah, you know. Like the kind in Palestine.

You are talking about, of course, *your* state. The public health depts. in our former state, Missouri, doesn't offer much in the way of anything other than (as I said more than once) shots and a few other services. Here's the link to the public health dept. for the county we lived in when my kids were very small. This county is adjacent to STL and is relatively affluent, so the lack of health services isn't a matter of funding as much as that stuff isn't mandated by state. Ppl in your state are fortunate to have that available.

Our current state and county's (Michigan) health dept. offers much more, similar to your area.

This bothers you? Personally I would rather have that young person protected against disease/pregnancy than the other way around.

The girl is learning young how to be disobedient, selfish and deceitful and that her real parent is her sugar daddy government who will give her all the candy she wants. I saw these types come and go with their birth control. Usually within 2 years they're back to have their babies and be married to the taxpayers for the care of their mistakes. Their childhood is gone, their futures are shot so they live in a trailer in the Ocala Forest somewhere spitting out more little monthly paychecks from their government husbands. It's an endless cycle.
The parents should know so they can her psychiatric help.

So bitter. Did it ever occur to you that if the parent(s) cared, she wouldn't even be there? Well-loved and cared-for 12 year olds have lots of interests that don't include sexual activity. What do you expect would have happened if your agency's services weren't available to her? She would have just given up the idea that 15-yr-old Bubba Joe really loves her so much and wants to show her, and started a Barbie collection?

Being realistic and seeing things go on around you as reality is not being bitter.

Okay, let's just say then that your lack of empathy and compassion are.... educational. It's easy to say that all kids should have loving and involved parenting so that when they are 12 years old, they aren't going to the free clinic looking for b.c. because they're not getting the love and affection all humans need from their family. The reality, which you mentioned, is that all kids do not have that at home. I'm grateful for clinics like yours and for workers like you who staff them, who can at least try to provide some educational and products too to keep them from a disastrous early parenthood. We are not mentally nor physically mature enough at that age to have a healthy birth. Let alone the financial aspects of that.

Yes, they provide a wide variety of services. I just disagree that a government agency can interrupt the relationship between a parent and child. If it's that bad or abusive, then the child can be taken away and given to a loving mature couple to raise.

Yes, because there are SOOO many loving mature couples who want to adopt an almost-grown child as opposed to an infant.

How you think a "government agency can interrupt the relationship between a parent and child" by simply existing is beyond me. Apparently you believe that if your agency wasn't there, that 12-yo girl would have stayed home and played with Barbies and done homework. More likely she would have gotten knocked up anyways, and then we would have two victims of bad parenting to deal with.

I know. That horse has left the barn anyway. I've got to stop wanting families to be strong again. This is the way it will be from here on out. I might not like it but, this the new reality, no turning back the clock.

Agree. Guess we'll see what the brave new world brings us all. Have a good evening, see you manana.

On Monday, Georgia lawmakers killed a tax deal designed to benefit Delta Air Lines after the airline caved to pressure from radical left-wing gun control activists and ended their relationship with the NRA.
