"TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed into law sweeping changes to school safety and gun access Friday — a measure crafted in response to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.
And almost immediately, the National Rifle Association filed a federal lawsuit to block some of it from taking effect.
The new legislation raises the minimum age to buy rifles from 18 to 21, which the NRA claims violates the Second Amendment.

The law also extends a three-day waiting period for handgun purchases to include long guns and bans bump stocks that allow guns to mimic fully automatic fire. And it allows some school staffers to be armed.
The bill balances "our individual rights with need for public safety," Scott said. "It's an example to the entire country that government can, and has, moved fast."
The changes were made in the wake of the Feb. 14 shooting rampage at the Parkland school that left 17 people dead and 17 injured. The shooter, Nikolas Cruz, a 19-year-old who had previously exhibited mental health issues, used a legally purchased semiautomatic rifle in the attack.
Families of the victims watched as Scott signed the measure into law. Andrew Pollack, whose 18-year-old daughter, Meadow, was among the 14 students killed, said he and other parents plan "on moving forward and hitting every other state to make sure they follow the lead of Florida.""

Thoughts?

Thoughts ? The NRA just enhanced its brutal stupidity in the eyes of millions.

Now we need a definitive ruling on the 2nd which ends this NRA bawling forever.

You're a rag head Canadian, why do you care?
What do you think of Florida's law RB? The only thing I disagree with is the age thing. If an 18 year old can go to war he should be able to purchase a gun. I like the rest of the law.

What I see is elderly white gun humpers - who spent their life fighting against any and all reasonable regulation of guns - getting outwitted and outplayed by a bunch of teenagers who not only held the moral high ground, but showed more savvy, intelligence, and principle, than elderly white gun humpers ever have.

Wasn't it "a bunch of teenagers who not only held the moral high ground, but showed more savvy, intelligence, and principle, than elderly white gun humpers" who killed their fellow teenagers?

Of course.
Each boosts euphoria and over-confidence.

Horse shit! I have been a gun owner my entire life and all the people I know are gun owners and not one get's euphoric when holding a gun. That is a myth you limp wristed anti gun nuts expound. Not one sane person has ever committed a mass shooting. They were either nut cases like the Fla and Vegas shooters or racists or anti something.

Gov. Scott takes a half measure 7.5 years too late and the NRA puts on a show against him.

You do understand we're arguing with an idiot, don't you?
