Question for you. This article is yet another that shows that cops far too often use deadly force first, and often when not justified by the circumstances. What is the solution to this? More training? Stricter dept. rules on when their weapon may be drawn?

In the LEOs' defense, the proliferation of guns everywhere is at least partially responsible for this shoot first ask questions later response to charged situations. You show up at a scene where the 911 caller has indicated that a gun is present. Of course you are going to be on hyper alert, probably even have your own weapon in hand. There often are only split seconds to make a decision whether to use it or not.

I fear these kinds of things are only going to continue if we can't figure out a solution.

Not taking STY’s side in the OP ht to answer your question, in the US when the phrase “we the people” is used it politically, governmentally and collectively refers to the citizens of this country. It is taken from the preamble of our constitution.
