The Obama years

Trump's zero tolerance policy is tearing the Trump party apart.
I personally hope he and his racist AG stick with it.

J Craft is an ignorant Trump fool.

The Trump administration has decided to refer every person caught crossing the border illegally for federal prosecution, a policy that could result in the separation of far more parents from their children at the border.

There is no federal law that stipulates that children and parents be separated at the border, no matter how families entered the United States. An increase in child detainees separated from parents stemmed directly from a change in enforcement policy repeatedly announced by Sessions in April and May 2018, under which adults (with or without children) are criminally prosecuted for attempting to enter the United States:

Session is actually following the laws put forth by Congress. Ooooh, ... the horror :palm:

And the vast majority of "separated" minors held now ... we're sent here, by their parents, .. unaccompanied! Duh :palm:

Don't you know that the children in detention centers in 2014 were UNACCOMPANIED TEENAGERS? They were NOT taken from their parents.

From January to June 2011, Immigration and Customs Enforcement removed 46,486 undocumented parents who claimed to have at least one child who is an American citizen.

In contrast, in the entire decade between 1998 and 2007, about 100,000 such parents were removed.

There is no law.. and most of these children are too young to have traveled without parents. Do you believe everything Trump tells you?

Your own post stated it was a consequence of more "parents" being prosecuted.

Good Grief!
:palm:

Do you even read what you post FFS.

There is no law.

Removal is a legal proceeding. Any alien that is in the United States may be subject to deportation or removal if he or she:

  • Is an inadmissible alien according to immigration laws in effect at the time of entry to the U.S. or adjustment of nonimmigrant status;
  • Is present in the U.S. in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act or any other U.S. law;
  • Violated nonimmigrant status or a condition of entry into the U.S.;
  • Terminated a conditional permanent residence;
  • Encouraged or aided any other alien to enter the U.S. illegally;
  • Engaged in marriage fraud to gain admission to the U.S.;
  • Was convicted of certain criminal offenses;
  • Failed to register or falsified documents relating to entry in to the U.S.;
  • Engaged in any activity that endangers public safety or creates a risk of national security; or
  • Engaged in unlawful voting.
