Pruitt is out at EPA

Mott the Hoople

Sweet Jane
Talk about overdue. Pruitt has been the single biggest embarrassment of a cabinet official since James Watt. Rumor has it his replacement will be Looten Pillage.

I mean seriously. Appointing Pruitt to regulate pollution was like hiring Willy Sutton to regulate banking.

Trump to announce Pruitt’s replacement today.

Well his interim replacement is a coal industry lobbyist. So while there is hope he’s not corrupt like Pruitt but there’s not a much hope he will regulate competently. EPA has had a good reputation in the past of regulating in the public interest based on science and minimizing the politicking and operating in a bipartisan manor.

One can hope Trump has learned from the Pruitt fiasco.

That asshole needs to be publicly executed. He exemplifies Republican evangelicals. He IS the Swamp!

Bullshit on steroids.

Oh Tom! Everyone here knows that according to you the Coal and Oil industry can do no wrong and that you don't see a conflict of interest by appointing an industry lobbyist to run an agency he's supposed to regulate to protect public health and the environment.

The fact is that both political parties have given strong bipartisan support to the US EPA and its mission and that these partisan attempts to undermine that mission and an important public institution are both obvious and troubling from the aspect of the corruption that industry lobbyist like Pruitt represent. This is third world shit that isn't supposed to happen in this country.

I have worked with the agency under both political parties and though they have differed on the scope of its mission they both have agreed on the importance of its mission as does the vast majority of the American public. This naked attempt to undermine and corrupt a public institution was disgraceful and it's refreshing to see that pressure from the American public to send this clown packing worked.

There's a JPP movement afoot to have you appointed in Pruitt's place. Will you accept?

Hear hear. Anyone heading the EPA should as a first qualification not destroy the environment for a living.
Maybe it's too much to ask that they actually care about the EPA, but at least not butter their bread in
efforts to thwart it. Perfect example of fox guading chicken coop

The fact that Obama sold American jobs down the river for the sake of a few votes was destined to get reversed. Pruitt was just the guy to do it. his job is done.

next time any liberal nut-bag thinks it's a good idea to place job killing regulations that do nothing to protect the environment, beware that there is a repairman in waiting. You can only do so much to keep liberals from ruining this country, it's just a shame we have to spend so much time fixing what you break.

Amen, brother.

I would think the Republican party could find a capable administrator who is not a Theocrat, has a modicum of respect for science and public health, and does not use the siren on his limo to clear traffic through to his favorite French restaurant.

There is apparently a rightwing cottage industry dedicated to promoting the myth that USEPA is some abusive federal authority, stealing power from the states and dictating policy and conditions to them under threat of retribution.

None of that comports in the remotest way with my experience with USEPA, who are generally pretty reasonable, and provide states plenty of latitude to institute their own environmental policies, with federal law there to provide a baseline backstop.

As long as liberals keep believing that

A. the sky is falling, the ice caps are melting, ewwww
and
B. that we somehow live in a bubble and by killing US jobs we will help pollution while at the same time other countries are polluting the atmosphere
like there's no tomorrow

the left will continue to be clueless beyond reality

good luck with that
