Often, Guille, investigations are conducted NOT to determine the truth (which often cannot be had)...but to determine which of conflicting versions sounds more plausible.
There was too little time spent attempting that...attempting to speak to as many people with information as possible.
This is a big thing...this is an investigation into a particular incident (or several) in the life of a nominee for the SUPREME COURT.
There was no hurry...except in the minds of people who wanted to hurry.
The funny thing is that the people who wanted to hurry...were the same people who wanted to delay when Garland was the nominee.
