The famous theoretical physicist died in March this year at the age of 76 but left behind some truly astonishing predictions in his final book which has just been released. One of his bold predictions in his book titled Brief Answers To The Big Questions was that God does not exist.

He described his claim there is no afterlife or higher power as a “profound realisation”. Professor Hawking wrote in the newly-published book: “We are free to believe what we want, and it’s my view that the simplest explanation is that there is no God.

Well, unfortunately he now has all of infinite eternity to painfully regret his "view". :(

why do christers get angry when people reject their mythology and then come up with revenge fantasies that they hope their god carry's out
 
Who cares ? Hawking was a moron the last 40 years of his life. He turned into a silly philosopher who could no longer do real physics and instead wrote useless "physics for poets" type books.

What, all those decades of astrophysics and no equation that disproves God—just an opinion lol?
 
Hawking was incredibly intelligent, but this seems to be more of a personal opinion. It's kind of meaningless in terms of the debate on whether there is or isn't a god.

Steven Hawking contributed in ways to humanity that no one on this board even comes close to. Including you. Including me.

His contributions to human knowledge, the inspiration he provided to countless people, his charity work on behalf of the disabled, and his service as a role model for the handicapped all did more for humanity that every message board poster here collectively have ever done.

It doesn't surprise me that so-called Christians find fault with him, or are giggling that he is burning in hell.

Hawking seemed to invoke Occam’s in dispensing with God—he was speaking as a philosopher and not an astrophysicist.

The better philosophical argument is the Kalam Argument coupled with the apparent design in the universe. Then the existence of God becomes a very reasonable proposition.
