‘There is NO GOD’ Stephen Hawking’s final revelation of the afterlife REVEALED

"I do not do "believing."" FA #259
Then you've never seen a magic show.
"At no point have I suggested gods exist or do not exist." FA
That's nice.

But whatever else may or may not be true, Earth is awash with such believers. Many of whom are homicidal about it.

Ideologically (theologically) the rational mind faces a simple task to maintain a rational mind.

BUT !!
"In the fevered state of our country, no good can ever result from any attempt to set one of these fiery zealots to rights, either in fact or principle. They are determined as to the facts they will believe, and the opinions on which they will act. Get by them, therefore, as you would by an angry bull; it is not for a man of sense to dispute the road with such an animal."
Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), U.S. president. Letter, 24 Nov. 1808, to his grandson, Thomas Jefferson Randolph
The sad fact is, on our planetary religionist mine-field, it may be imprudent not to be wary of those so desperately eager to take offense, even where none is present.

Then you've never seen a magic show.

I've been an amateur magician.

What does that have to do with it?

That's nice.

Thank you.

Earth is awash with people who "believe" there are no gods...who are every bit as much a threat...who have done every bit as much damage to humanity.

The sad fact is, on our planetary religionist mine-field, it may be imprudent not to be wary of those so desperately eager to take offense, even where none is present.

Whatever.

I am much, much, much, much, much, much more "wary" of the impact of American conservatives on our country than I am of people who "believe" there is a GOD and who want to worship and promote that god.

I live in an area where Jehovah's Witnesses are prevalent...and I treat them with respect when they knock on my door.

Frankly, I would expect any theist with strong feelings for their religion...to attempt to promote it.

Then you would be seen as a kook.

Okay...so I would be seen as a kook.

But ask any logician...and he/she will tell you that once a person makes an assertion...the burden of proof for that assertion falls on them.

From a logician's point of view...MUCH better to say, "Bigfoot?" with a wide grin...than to say, "Bigfoot does not exist."

In any case, if a person is asserting there are no gods...the burden of proof for that assertion falls on that person.

I do not KNOW any gods exist...AND NEITHER DO YOU. I am honest enough to acknowledge that...you are not. The phoniness of your position is obvious.

Deal with it.

Supposedly, YOUR god wants you to be truthful. YOU really should stop lying. Your god might exist...and condemn you to torture for eternity for lying.

You say that as if it's true, it is not, the knowledge of God is written on your heart, unless you have been given over to your vile lusts, and are a reprobate.

1. The logician would tell you that you can't prove a negative.

2. Let's cut through the bullshit and lay out your position:

This is what happens when a believer in one myth (Socialism) rants about another myth (God/s). It's kitsch.

Except in a few countries where it matters, I don't think socialism is very interested in 'religion', and Jesus was clearly an early socialist, after all. Anti-religious radicalism is surely a Liberal feature?

You say that as if it's true, it is not, the knowledge of God is written on your heart, unless you have been given over to your vile lusts, and are a reprobate.

I've had my heart checked.

Nothing written there.

I have no vile lusts...except for golf, of course...and we all know Jesus, Moses, and the robed god of Abraham all play golf.

You are blindly guessing there was a "beginning."

Existence and everything else...MAY ALWAYS HAVE BEEN.

So look at that...realize there is no need for a "beginning"...and stop pretending that "a god" is the only possible answer for that part of your blind guessing.

You don’t believe in the Big Bang theory?

You’re practicing radical skepticism, Frankie lol. My claim is that God is a plausible candidate for the Beginner.

Hence, my faith is based in logic and reason.

1. The logician would tell you that you can't prove a negative.

No logician on the planet would tell you that.

You can prove a negative...providing the negative is not exceedingly universal in nature.

2. Let's cut through the bullshit and lay out your position:

Okay...I guess you have got to do that kind of shit. I laughed, for it is worth.

HERE IS MY POSITION LAID OUT (I've previously offered it many times in this forum)

I do not know if gods exist or not;
I see no reason to suspect gods CANNOT EXIST...that the existence of gods is impossible;
I see no reason to suspect that gods MUST EXIST...that gods are needed to explain existence;
I do not see enough unambiguous evidence upon which to base a meaningful guess in either direction...

...so I don't.

I understand your position, I have understood it from the beginning but when you say things like a logician would say that you can prove a negative as far as the unknown is concerned you obviously don't understand my position...or logicians.

You don’t believe in the Big Bang theory?

I do not do "believing" at all.

If you are asking if I accept the Big Bang Theory as a reasonable explanation for how what we humans call "the universe" came into existence...

...I DO.

But I, like most scientists, have no way of knowing if what we humans call "the universe" is actually all there is of existence.

The precursors of the Big Bang Event...MAY ALWAYS HAVE EXISTED.

There is NO NEED for a God.

There may be a GOD...there may be many gods...there may be no gods.

I do not know...and neither do you.

You’re practicing radical skepticism, Frankie lol.

I am saying that I do not know the true nature of the REALITY of existence.

You don't either, but you seem to have trouble simply acknowledging it.

Instead, you want to blindly guess that there was a "beginning"...and then posit a "god" as "the beginner."

My claim is that God is a plausible candidate for the Beginner.

Badgin Pursvaunt is a plausible candidate for the Beginner...if a "Beginner" actually exists.

Of course, the need for a "Beginner" is just part of your blind guess about the true nature of the REALITY.

Hence, my faith is based in logic and reason.

Horse shit!

Your "faith" is nothing more than your stone-headed insistence that your blind guess that there is a god...is correct.

I stand by my response.

If you want to change my response and pretend I said something else...and then argue against the changes...

...have fun arguing with yourself.

I haven't changed anything so just stop it. I know you really want to make faith and skepticism seem the same but they aren't...but you know what?
