Sheer insanity, the shutdown has cost more than the amount being askef for in the first place. So that puts paid to any arsehole on here complaining about the cost.

PRESIDENT Donald Trump has vowed to plough on with his controversial border wall regardless of Democrat support after he signed a stop-gap funding bill, ending the longest government shutdown in US history after 34 days and 21 hours.

Trump wanted $5.7billion (£3.8billion) to fund the contentious campaign pledge - but the shutdown itself has already racked up a huge $6billion (£4.5billion) bill, according to S&P Global Ratings estimates.

Nancy and Chuck’s ‘good-faith’ bargaining is similar to Arafat’s when he rejected the 2000 peace proposal. Because Arafat didn’t really want peace.

In other words, do democrats care more about Dreamers or humiliating Trump?

I think the answer is pretty apparent.
 
I don't see where there is any choice anymore.without fences we simply cannot control the border.

Democrats won’t be able to hide behind ‘Trump owns the shutdown’ this time around: they said they would negotiate on the wall. I’ll believe that when I see it happen.

Controlling the border is one of the first orders of business for any sane country. I’m beginning to question whether ours is sane or not. But right about here, some wag will pipe-in with ‘but illegal crossing numbers are down’.

Well, the stock market goes down from time to time—but it never stays there!

‘But most illegals over stay their visas’. So what? Do you leave your windows open when you leave the house because most thieves try the door?

‘But most of the heroin and fentanyl doesn’t come across the border’ [a dubious proposition]. So what again? That any at all gets into this country is unacceptable.

Why not just abolish all immigration laws and U.S. borders, and grant citizenship to everyone and anyone who wants it?
