The "symbolism" wasn't actually symbolism, Grumpy. It was stark reality.

THIS was the statement being projected:

The only stark reality is the Democrats have filled the House with at least two Israel hating Muslims (who I'm not sure how they feel about groups like ISIS) along with a bunch of ideological inexperienced leftist who will push an agenda that will never get past the Senate or presidential veto. The partisan divide has just been widened meaning this will most likely be a do nothing congress. But keep dreaming of your super majority to come.

Morning, Frank. High of 72 degrees here today.

Why should gender or race matter when picking the best qualified person for public office? I would vote for any woman or Black or Brown if they were the most qualified and represented my core beliefs. I believe that most Americans have moved on in terms of race and gender. Sure, there are some who base their votes on gender or race but I believe that they are in a small minority. I believe that many women avoid running for public office because it's a vicious and corrupt business. I could be wrong though I can'r remember when I was. Lol

I would think the big stoppers on the whole "socialism bogeyman" thing would be the contracts clause,
due process and equal protection clauses of the US constitution. That's why I'm not pissing on myself
like these rightees are especially in times like these when so few have so much and so many so little.

Yup...I am an old, white man.

But I am able to see the diversity in our culture...and I want to see it respected. Too bad there are so many other old, white men who are terrified of women and minorities.

Poor guys. Most are no longer able to cry out for "Mommy."

We'll try to comfort them, though.
