ALL NYC Public Schools go to "meatless mondays". Forced vegetarianism

Holy overreaction, Batman! Who said that I was making decisions for others' kids? You need to calm down before you blow a gasket.

You need to feed your own damn kids and not rely on the school to make parental decisions for you.

I think most children would welcome a school lunch - something the republicunts always deny them.

Whether it is vegan, vegetarian or meat , a healthy school lunch helps students - especially those that come from households that have had their social security, meals on wheels, food stamps and other welfare cut by the fucking republicunts.

But then again, republicunts prefer children gorge themselves on McDonalds, Burger King and KFC and get so obese that they are reliant on insulin that is outrageously expensive.

It's not the job of anyone but the parents to feed their own kids. Irresponsible behavior by parents that don't care enough about their own kids to feed them needs to stop.

What responsible people prefer is that the irresponsible constantly demanding someone else give them something they should be providing themselves start doing for themselves.

Why do you believe being an irresponsible parent a good thing?

I do feed my own damn kid. You do realize that most families pay for school lunches, right? I am sorry, and I shouldn't laugh but I do find your snowflakey temper tantrum to be pretty funny.

Ignore that kind of remark...remember, no one here should be getting "personal" because they font know you...
That being said I don't know a school lunch program in a public ‘school that provides for what the kids actually need. The veggie thing is absurd..
You wouldn't believe the number of teachers providing food for kids every day...so that they don't go through the day hungry...Kind of hard to learn if you are.... '

You shouldn't make statements that aren't true about school lunches. In the school district where I live, 52% of the students receive free or reduced price lunch. That means most aren't doing what you say.

When ALL parents start feeding their own kids, let me know. As of today, those of us that do feed our kids are having to provide or subsidize meals for MORE than half of the kids in the district. Why aren't their parents feeding them?

Thank you. Yes, I don't pay any attention to what some anonymous bigot thinks of my parenting. His opinion is of no value to me. Kiddo's school has a la carte lunch. He had falafel on Meatless Monday. He loved it! I ate school lunches when I was in Middle School and High School, too. I don't know what other school systems are like in other areas, but they do a great job around here.

52% of the students in the school district where I live are on free or reduced lunch. That means the parents of those kids are being irresponsible and expect those of us that are/were responsible for feeding our kids to do what they refuse to do.

You're the one that made a false statement.

That's in your school district. In ours, 75% pay for the lunches. Full price. Your distortions and deflections don't mean that I am not telling the truth.

Which makes your general statement false. Nice spin to try and cover your inaccurate claim.

I didn't make any false statements. Your anecdotal evidence does not refute mine.

So 52% not paying the full price means most are?

Mine proof refutes your statement.

Regardless of the percentages, until 100% of the parents pay for THEIR own kids to eat, it's irresponsible to expect someone else to do it.
