Fundamentalism, on the other hand, typically results in negativity. Fundamentalism is attempting to prove a religion (trying to prove a circular argument, thus committing the circular argument fallacy).

Homophobia would be having an irrational fear of gay people. That's not what's going on in most all cases. What goes on is that people don't approve of homosexual marriages since they are not biblical. It typically has nothing to do with hating the people themselves.

Yes, Christianity is a circular argument. So is any religion... All religions begin with an initial circular argument, and have additional arguments stemming from it. That's the very definition of what a religion is.

Circular arguments are not fallacious in and of themselves, but only if one attempts to prove them. That's where the fallacy comes in...

I have to call bullshit on people opposing homosexuality because it's not Biblical. How many people actually believe everything in the Bible? How many people truly try to live by the Bible? The truth is, people believe what they want. If Pence wasn't homophobic, then he would ignore the homophobia in the Bible, just like he ignores the parts about charity and honesty.
