What a dumbass. For the most part only press and political nerds watch it. (It's called "nerd prom" for a reason). So he's announcing a COMPETING event. Petty-boy will bring attention to it and himself by not showing up. We all know he can't pull it off and he knows it, so he's going to 'show em'. The man with all the people skills doesn't realize that SELF DEPRECATING humor is a perfect foil to criticism. He simply has no idea how to play the game!

Trump rolls out details for his White House Correspondents' Dinner counter-rally

President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced he will head to Wisconsin for the rally he’ll hold instead of attending the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

His reelection campaign rolled out details about the Green Bay, Wis., event that will take place next Saturday while much of Washington’s press corps heads to the annual journalism celebration Trump has scorned since he became president.

Though he attended the star-studded event several times before running for office, including in 2011, when he was skewered for promoting the conspiracy theory that former President Barack Obama wasn’t born in the U.S., he has broken with years of tradition in not attending a single dinner since becoming president. He has instead hosted competing events with his supporters.

Several weeks ago, Trump told reporters he would again skip the event “because the dinner is so boring and so negative,” saying that “we’re going to hold a very positive rally instead.”

As a matter of comparison, remember this? The night Obama came on the air and he did this one, we later learned he had just given the ORDER to take out Bin Laden before doing his shitk. He even did a BIN LADEN joke. Now that was COOL under pressure.

One thing should be clear now: Don’t play poker with President Obama or his defense secretary, Robert M. Gates.
Saturday night, just hours before the two men launched a daring raid on a compound in Pakistan where Osama bin Laden was hiding, they were at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Seth Meyers, the “Saturday Night Live” comedian, joked that “people think Bin Laden is hiding in the Hindu Kush, but did you know that every day from four to five, he hosts a show on C-Span?”

As noted first by ABC News, the C-Span cameras panned first to Mr. Gates, who was shown laughing broadly. The cameras then show Mr. Obama, laughing and smiling. Neither man offered even the slightest hint that the joke held special meaning for them.

Talk about poker faces.
