President Donald Trump said the Duchess of Sussex is “nasty” before departing on his state visit to the United Kingdom.
The commander-in-chief sat down with The Sun for an exclusive Oval Office interview.

Trump was asked about comments by Markle during the 2016 presidential election, in which she said he is “misogynistic” and “divisive.”
“I didn’t know that. What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty,” Trump replied....

Told of Meghan’s barbs by The Sun, Mr Trump insisted it was the first time he’d heard them.

He said: “I didn’t know that. What can I say? I didn’t know that she was nasty.”

When told Meghan had threatened to leave for Canada if he won in 2016, he countered: “A lot of people are moving here (to the US).”

He also revealed that he had no idea that he wouldn’t be meeting Meghan on his three-day state visit to the UK.
He said: “I didn’t know that. I hope she is OK.”

LONDON — Finally, an answer to the question consuming protocol watchers and tabloid reporters here: What did the Obamas give Queen Elizabeth II on Wednesday when they arrived at Buckingham Palace?

An iPod.

An Obama aide reported the queen was given an iPod loaded with video and photos of her 2007 trip to the United States, as well as songs and accessories. She also received a rare songbook signed by the composer Richard Rodgers.

The gift issue had come up after Prime Minister Gordon Brown visited the White House last month. Mr. Brown gave Mr. Obama a pen holder carved from the timber of an anti-slave ship, receiving in return a DVD box set of American movies, igniting a torrent of criticism in the British press.

According to news reports here, the queen gave the Obamas a silver-framed signed photograph — a gift she gives to all visiting dignitaries.

There was no word on whether the songbook included the “Sound of Music” classic, “My Favorite Things.”

And, the Queen has already made known to Markle that the Royals do not engage publicly in preferential politics. That's always been their way.
 
“She intends to become a UK citizen and will go through the process of that, which some of you may know takes a number of years,“ Jason Knauf, Prince Harry's communications secretary told the BBC in December 2017.
That journey cannot begin until Markle has spent 12 months living in the UK so, in the meantime, Knauf revealed that Markle would be "compliant with immigration requirements at all times".

Up to a quarter of a million people are expected to take to the streets of London and other cities around the country to oppose the visit of President Donald Trump when he visits the U.K. next week, protest organizers have said.

His will be one of the least popular visits by a U.S. president with a YouGov poll showing that over half of Londoners (54%) oppose the visit and less than a quarter approve.

Trump and the first lady will be greeted by the Queen when he arrives on Monday. He will also meet Prince Charles, his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as well as Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, London’s Evening Standard reported.

Trump and the first lady will go to Westminster Abbey with Prince Andrew to lay a wreath at the grave of the Unknown Warrior, The Express reported.

His visit in June 2019 is expected to spark large protests in London. Now however, there will be a less warm welcome from those opposing his visit.The campaign group Stop Trump said in a statement: “Trump is coming back for a state visit and we have to get out there again in a diverse Carnival of Resistance that shows we reject Trump’s divisive politics and policies of bigotry, hate and greed.”

The campaign added: “We will make it clear to the British government that it’s not OK to normalize Trump’s agenda and fear it has sparked.”
There will be a main protest called “Together Against Trump”, that will take place in London on Tuesday leaving from Trafalgar Square from 11 a.m. Its route will depend on Trump's schedule for the day.

There are also smaller protests planned elsewhere throughout the country on Monday.
