What Democrats and Republicans need to learn, is that yes, when a sitting president tells a lie or breaks campaign rules or violates campaign laws, they do have the right to impeach him legally, but that it is also discretionary on their part.

It is the obligation of Congress to use discretion as well as impeach.

You never HAVE TO impeach just because you can.

I am not saying Nancy is right- not saying she is wrong- but for sure she is using discretion!

She has been around long enough to know you can't impeach a president with a minority Senate, you actually need 2/3's of the votes.

That's some ego you have ... but you haven't so much as guided me to these imaginary "descriptions & jurisdictions" so I'm gonna pass on taking any advice OK? I'll certainly dictate my rules of engagement at all times. If you're not mature enough to support your assertions I won't waste time engaging you in the future. The actual number of partisan investigations is largely irrelevant, nothing will come of them anyway. Mueller & the DOJ exonerated Trump, and there's not a word of truth to Michael Cohen's smears. Case closed.

Mueller Report; Page 173 V I: Ultimately, the investigation did not establish that the Campaign coordinated or conspired with the Russian government in its election-interference activities.

Barr: Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and I have concluded that the evidence developed during the Special Counsel's investigation is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense.

I don't know anybody in the country that thinks the Senate will do what's right. At least, not until Jan '21.

That doesn't negate the fact that trump is going to spend most of his life in court, or in jail once he's ousted from the White House. He's committed quite a few crimes with respect to his bogus charity, his inauguration donations, his myriad foreign policy actions aimed at growing his bank accounts, and a number of other issues that we don't see on the news.

His problem is his big mouth. He bragged about tax evasion. That's going to hurt when the chickens come home to roost.

As has been mentioned...he NEEDS to be re elected in order to stay out of jail.

I'm aware of the facts. Which is why I requested that J McCready provide his alternate facts. I expect that McCready carry his own water and detail which of his 29 investigations have the potential to put Trump in prison. Congress hasn't the votes to impeach, and Pelosi's House of reps can't send the POTUS to prison. None of Mueller's secret referrals were for the POTUS. I can only estimate, but I'm confident that eliminating the pseudo impeachment probes, and Mueller's secret referrals, that "29 investigations" meme, boils down to 3 investigations that potentially lead to indictment. Those 3 being predicated on Michael Cohen and obviously that's a problem.

She's smart enough to realize that there will be no good result because of the Senate. Many are just chomping at the bit because they know an impeachment inquiry is the only way to expose that which we already know.

I'm delighted you've taken such an interest. Anyway, I'm trying to entertain the fantasies of a couple of posters who imagine that House democrats political posturing could ever lead to prison. I don't know what you share amongst yourselves, but all you've shared with me are your insecurities. I think you probably ignore everthing you're not emotionally equipped to handle, so if you need to add me to that list I'll understand.
