Reperations~ The other persepective- Rep Jim Clyburn

This is pretty close to what I have been thinking, what about you. :|

From that moment in American history, how do you think about reparations?

I say to people that the big mistake all of us make with reparations is monetizing it.
The moment you say ‘reparations,’ people start thinking money.
Reparations, the root word of which is ‘repair’ — it means to repair what may be a fault.
You can repair it by funding — targeting resources into these communities.
You can repair it by funding historical black colleges and universities that bring these young people off the sea islands and set them straight for success.
We could make a very comprehensive reparations approach and not spend all our time arguing about the money, ’cause you would never be able to monetize this in any fair way.

So, my thing is, let’s make the repairs that are necessary, and let’s put forth programs that are going to repair the fault that had developed out of slavery.

Do you think that’s gonna have to be the starting pitch of every 2020 candidate on the Democratic side when it comes to reparations, at least demonstrating and standing for an exploration of how to commit a repair to the African-American community?

I think they should.
I think they should.
I don’t know if they are doing it.
I remember two candidates, the moment it came up, they started talking about money.
And that is where you — you just reach of point of no return.
You devolve into a discussion that you can’t dig out o
f.

From my perspective, this thinking is right on point.

How many people/slash organizations within the black community are demanding money?

One tihng is clear though, We cannot be reliant on the Democratic Party to seriously address it ..Not Yet. It's still to dependent on the old guard.

I will jump. Right down hard on your faggot ass pencil neck and break your spine. Up for it pussy? Going to finally man up? Get that KKK cock out your ass? Can you do it?

Stop being a goddamn nigger for once in your life, boy. It hasn't served you well yet you continue.

Funny how such a subhuman piece of shit pretends he could do anything.

I was hoping you'd died from your ass cancer.

Nice way to try and make yourself feel better.

I have known him a long time & never seen him miserable or down yet, always upbeat & optimistic..

You are kinda the opposite, always seem in pain, miserable fuck bitching, moaning & attempting to get others to share your pain..

It is quite apparent to most folks here that it is you struggling to make yourself feel better..

While many just laugh @ you, for some it is painful to watch & not have some pity on an obviously old man in pain, pathetically struggling & lashing out @ everyone, especially those displaying what you are so jealous of/despising, the love of life & the joy in others............:|

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF....... How you doing?? Is your PM box still full?? Hope you are doing well & real good to cya back on the block.....:) :hand:

I was hoping you'd died from your ass cancer.

Most good folks here wish you die of natural causes, but rather soon.........

Unfortunately it is most likely you will be strangled by a neighbor or close relative..

They gave money to white non slaves.

White people don't have a problem with that.

Black are due more than monetary compensation.

Black bodies were and still are monetized through slavery and private prisons...……………...why is it an issue now that racist white men have to pay the price?

I believe that is true.
Both TTQ and Taichi come across as people looking for a 'PayDay'.
'Reparations' is a nice Bumper Sticker slogan, but actual implementation is a tough go.
Bernie Sanders has talked about 'Wealth Inequality' and wants to attack the Problem with more Resources.
I haven't looked at the 'Video' yet, I'm kind of busy, but what you've presented so far seems like a more reasonable approach and a more doable approach.

YOU RACIST FUCKS BROUGHT AND SOLD BLACK BODIES...…….YOU RECEIVED MONETARY WEALTH OFF THE BACKS OF BLACK...….

You should pay accordingly.

I went back and looked at the short Video. Clyburn says what Bill has quoted. There's a difference here between what you are saying and what Clyburn is saying.

Affirmative Action HANDS our African friends something. Similar to how their FREEDOM was HANDED to them. No effort on their part.
This proposal creates an OPPORTUNITY for them to. Maybe it's an all paid for college education? Maybe it's an all paid for Trade School?
The Motivated will rise, the Deadbeats will still complain about how Life is so unfair.

AA benefits more white women than anyone...…..you racist fucks see to it that you maintain not giving Blacks anything.

WE ARE NOT FREE!

Americans take Pride in fighting for their Freedom from England.
Blacks don't have that same sense of 'Fighting for their Freedom'.
There wasn't a Black revolt that threw off the chains of Slavery.
Americans 'took' their Freedom from England.
Blacks were 'granted' their Freedom by Whites
.

Even now, Whites glorify Matin Luther King (non violent), and diminish the role of revolutionaries like Malcolm X, Black Panthers, that were violent and would 'take' their Rightful Place. I think it is deliberate.

This is why school busing doesn't work.

If this is what they teach in white schools...……...burn them down to the ground.

I have never heard anything so idiotic.

but white privilege allows the white mass's to be this ignorant.

If you bothered to actually read the thread you would notice not everyone in it agrees w/ his view..

It is his opinion, one persons view, your attempt to project it onto others isn't correct & in doing so you damage your own cred, assuming you have any left w/ most ppl you post with!!!!

Not enough.

They made wealth and built this country by selling Black bodies...……. only right those Black bodies receive compensation.

Why do we have to tip toe around white people when asking for what is factually ours?

Monetary payment should be included in reparations. Not saying its the only thing, but it's worth discussing.

We can't let white people tell us ……..no monetary compensation and close the door.

You're opinion about me and my post, doesn't change my post.

I meant every word. Not even sure why you commented??? shrugging shoulders.

Take one look at Africa and the answer becomes clear.

That ... and Haiti. But, maybe it's a fluke? I'm trying to maintain an 'equality' attitude.
(The finding of Neanderthal DNA in all people EXCEPT those from sub-saharan Africa makes it even harder though)
