Racism Has A Name

Hello Dukkha,

Compare the body counts.

Nobody sets up an assault knife in a hotel overlooking a country music concert to mow down unsuspecting concert-goers.

Show us the high capacity knives.
im not debating the Obvious, the point is the hate from deranged minds in universal.
I support the "red flag"concept -something has to be done

You might as well not even try to have a rational conversation with Toxic Top. It's like

She deliberately misconstrues what you write so that you'll keep responding. It's what attention whores do, you know.

I've been on this forum for about two weeks now, and I'm learning that lesson.

Your graphic's text is too small to read, unfortunately.

How do you figure that liberals are to blame for RWer and/or insane mass shootings? Obviously it's not because we've managed to pass any meaningful firearms regulations. I hope your answer isn't along the lines of the man being perp-walked away from his house, where his wife has a black eye, and he's telling the cops "Well, it was all HER fault I had to hit her."

Here is the graphic.

I blame liberalism for turning out a couple of generations of pampered children that have never been taught that life isn't fair and there are winners and losers in life. I also take exception to you classifying mass shooters as RWers. There is absolutely no correlation between political beliefs and mass shootings.

As to domestic violence there is no reason for either party to strike or worse one another. When we first got married as a young 20+ year old that hadn't completely learned to control my temper I would hit the wall or door rather than strike my bride. I can honestly say in 52 years I have never struck her in anger. Oh I freely admit to patting her butt but that is lust not anger. lol

I've been on forums with the tard for almost 10 years now. Once you give her attention, she'll coat-tail you till you finally give up and put her on ignore. She doesn't come here (or to the old one) to talk politics; she comes to aggravate ppl for attention and instigate personal flame wars. You nailed her with your description of the mental problems.

Thanks for helping out this old set of eyeballs. Mr. Owl objects to the media's description of AK-47s. He says it would be more accurate to call them "commonly-available military-style semi-automatic rifles." To which I replied: "It would take half of the 60 seconds allotted to coverage of the latest mass shooting just to get that out of the anchor's mouth."

So how exactly did liberalism make kids pampered? My parents were liberal and we certainly were not coddled, nor was self-esteem a big priority either at home or at school. Even if it was, WTF does that have to do with the easy availability of weapons of mass destruction by civilians, and the desire to use them to murder the largest number of strangers possible?

What's going on here is, of course, a distraction. No one on the RW wants to admit that the difference between America and the rest of the civilized world when it comes to the sorry statistics of mass murder is simply the easy availability of those WMDs. We went to war with Iraq because it was said that Saddam had them. But we look the other way in the U.S. Because some idiot's right to own a quasi-military-style firearm trumps your right to go to the store, church, or a concert and not be shot down like a rabid dog.

Mr. Owl and I agree on the military looking knockoffs.

As to you and your families liberalism. Liberalism was quite different when we were younger. Liberalism then is closer to moderate conservatism today. It wasn't until the 70's did liberalism and conservativism start going farther left and right. My parents would not recognize the Democrat party of today.

As to guns this nation has a totally different history than Europe they had their wars of conquest long before guns were invented, couple that with the fact that as a nation we are much larger and diverse in terrain and people. The Europeans never had anything like the American Indian tribes the closest they came was the South American tribes and they paid a heavy price subduing them. So because firearms were such a central part of the founding and expansion of this nation it is understandable that we would have opposite views on guns and gun ownership.

Can you picture how alien Dodge city would have been to a European? It would be like a different world.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

Excellent point. One amusing NRA anecdote from the past: The week after the 2008 election, the NRA and Reichwing freakazoids were fanning the flames of fear so hard that guns and ammo flew off the shelves in Alaska, till they were bare. You literally go not buy a firearm or ammo for weeks because they were out of stock. Because you know, commie socialist black man coming to take your guns. I wonder how many of those were pawned to buy food in the years since. lol

Time proved them completely wrong, and time will be prove today's right wing wrong as well. We hold lives more precious than their ideology.

Hello dukkha,

shit heads like Beto and now even Biden are stirring the flames-backed by the usual suspects in the media

Disagree.

They are bringing proper attention to it instead of the usual Republican 'now is not the time' baloney.

Hello Trumpet,

I've only one on my ignore list, and there will be more.

I've probably got 50. But then many of them have been banned since I added them. So I was on the right track.

And of course, my rules are more strict than the site rules.

You've been conned again.

"Less mass shootings under Trump!"
— Ron Tusler on Sunday, August 4th, 2019 in a Facebook post

Pants on Fire: State rep claims mass shootings are down under Trump

...Wisconsin state Rep. Ron Tusler was on Facebook claiming mass shootings are down under President Donald Trump.

"Less mass shootings under Trump! His base doesn't hate anyone," declared Tusler, R-Harrison, in a since-deleted post. The text accompanied a re-posting of a chart shared by another person that showed 24 mass shootings under President Barack Obama and four shootings under Trump. That’s quite the disparity.

Tusler’s claim is ridiculous on multiple fronts. For one, the data it references is badly outdated. The chart in Tusler’s post is pulled from a Spring 2018 article in National Affairs, a quarterly journal from the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank.

The broader issue with both the chart and Tusler’s claim is the use of raw numbers to compare one partial term under Trump to two full terms under Obama.
Simple tallies will, of course, be larger over a longer time period. So what are those tallies? And how does Tusler’s claim about less shootings hold up to a better comparison, such as mass shootings per year?

Mass shootings since 1981
