Sometimes, innocent children suffer because of the sin of others: neglect, abuse, drunk driving, etc. In those cases, we can definitely say that the suffering is the result of personal sin (just not theirs), and we learn the lesson that our sin always affects others around us. Other times, innocent children suffer because of what some might call “acts of God”: natural disasters, accidents, childhood cancer, etc. Even in those cases, we can say that the suffering is the result of sin, generally speaking, because we live in a sinful world.

Oh and Children? You know that babies in the womb feel pain when you rip them from the womb? Tell me again how much you care!

It's not a Christian nation, so you can say whatever you want. It never has been. Just because some parallel exists between the ten commandments and some of our laws (a miniscule overall percentage of our laws) does not make this a Christian nation, and never will.

The majority of Christian morality comes from the articles of Confucius anyway. Who predated Christianity by centuries.
