You make it sound like that application was lying on his desk waiting to be (or was) filled out along side some police force info. The application was in a frame hanging on the wall. It wasn't reported how old the application was, could it have been from 100 yrs. ago? An antique?

RB, there wasn’t any attempt at sarcasm. In my 35 years living in California I don’t believe I’ve seen a single confederate flag or KKK application (memorabilia) hanging in anyone’s home I’ve visited, let alone an open house. So that’s why I made the comment.
As far as one having to be a racist to think a guy having a KKK application hanging during an open house did so with a specific purpose in mind, that’s not a concept I can wrap my head around.
If you have a KKK anything hanging around your house it is not happenstance, you are into it. It's your thing.

Racism is offensive for sure; having KKK memorabilia is not a sign of intelligence. But the FACT remains is that we ALL have a right to whatever speech we like no matter how offensive it may be. You don't have a right to not be offended.
