A vote risks an actual impeachment trial in the Senate—where the Majority party can cross exam witnesses and set the parameters. A vote risks further investigation, by the Senate, into Biden’s involvement in the Ukraine because Trump’s defense would be predicated on whether Biden was involved in corruption or not.

So at minimum, Biden is pulling for a no-vote by the House lol.

But this whole charade is kabuki theater on the part of democrats: they are by no means sure they can beat Trump in a fair election so they are playing unfair by doing an end-around the Constitution with their ‘impeachment inquiry’.

They aim to damage Trump as much as possible before the election by ‘impeaching’ him without actually voting on it.

If you can believe the polls [a risky proposition these days] it appears to be working but there are potential ‘flies in the ointment’ that can appear at any time.

Everywhere you turn they want you to believe everyone is on board with impeachment.

- They have polls saying people want Trump impeached
- They have Jeff Flake saying “35 Republican Senators would vote to convict”
- They have the votes in the House

So what the fuck else do they need? Get on with it already.

It is all a sham. They are trying to get Republicans to force Trump to resign. He will not.

If the impeachment votes in the house and senate were anonymous Trump would be impeached tomorrow. Flake is right.

BUT the votes AREN'T anonymous. They are real. They have to go on record. That is the point of our constitutional republic so that you can't run kangaroo courts without being accountable.
