The apparent strategy is to use the Star Chamber to boost the poll numbers. That’s fine as far as it goes. But open [aka known as ‘transparent’] hearings are *open*. The other thing on your wish list is that the impeachment narrative being constructed by the, lying weasel, Schiff, can survive an open hearing against republicans that are hostile to Schiff’s carefully crafted narrative.
Then, assuming it can pass the House, Democrats need *two thirds* of a Republican controlled Senate to impeach Trump.
