During the service, a man went in and fired a weapon. Two church members, who were members of the parish's security team, returned fire and killed the shooter, who was pronounced dead at the scene, White Settlement Police Chief J.P. Bevering said.

The main difference between this church shooting and the church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas in 2017, is that thankfully there were armed citizens inside this church.
In the Sutherland Springs church shooting, the shooter was the only one inside the church who was armed. There was no one to stop the shooter until he went outside and a neighboring homeowner forced the shooter to flee when he started firing at him with an AR-15.

The law was changed after the Sutherland Springs Church shootings. Churches are now allowed to have members form a security force. The church in the most recent shooting did just that and the shooter was killed in 6 seconds before he could kill even more people. I'd say the law worked.
