Why Is Mitch McConnell So Afraid of John Bolton? The Senate must hear his testimony..

As is your right to defend trivializing the impeachment process to appease radical Trump haters.

Court proceedings can be expedited—and this one certainly would have been given the circumstances, so that argument is weak.

Nonsense. This was monumental. The appellate court would have gone very carefully...and the SCOTUS would have taken a year.

The argument is far from weak.

And even if it did run into the election, what’s wrong with allowing voters to decide if Trump needs removed, or not?

I have no problem with that at all. But Trump deserved impeachment...and I am delighted that they have impeached him.

Hello Southern Chicken,

A simple vote by the Senate to change the rules and allow for lawmakers to dismiss articles of impeachment would remedy the above.

That would be great. Let the Republicans in the Senate show what they are made of. Good luck winning over the mushy middle with a partisan trick as 70% of America wants to hear from the key witnesses.

There is a reason you never address the suggestion that Trump* take the stand just like Clinton did.

Asking Trump* to tell the truth is like asking McDonald's for a healthy lunch.

Sounds like you want Bolton to testify.

70% of America wants to hear from key witnesses.

The House "claimed" that there was enough evidence to impeach Trump...

...and that is what the House did. THEY IMPEACHED HIM.

That is their function.

The function of the Senate is to try him...and they should obtain all the testimony and evidence they can.

Try to get that right, Dog. It is not all that difficult.

So you don't have the evidence to convict.

Good point.

I didn't say that...but if you are asking, I think there is MORE than enough evidence to convict, if the trial were a fair one.

It won't be...and I doubt any impeachment trial will ever be. (Nixon's might have been.) McConnell and his lackeys in the Senate are terrified of Trump and his base...and would not convict if the evidence were television tapes of Trump confessing.:fu:

It's not that they are terrified of the IMPEACHED ONE...it's way more than that. The GOP has taken dirty foreign money and are implicated.

In a fair trial, all 100 senators would have to recuse themselves, lol.

Maybe Bolton has evidence that can clear the IMPEACHED ONE so why is everyone on the right so afraid of the outcome? Think about it. Think about it real hard.

Think about this. And think about it real hard. What is the bottom line, bestest testimony(for the jackasses)that Bolton could give? And the stipulation is that it has to be the truth, and it has to be provable. It's not gonna be "I had a discussion with the president, and he told me he was worried about biden being so awesome that he might beat him in November, so he wanted the Ukrainians to investigate the whole quid pro joe thing, but he told me not to say anything about it". Nope, the best they can hope for is "I had a discussion with the president, and I tried to persuade him not to freeze the aid to Ukraine". The next questions from the GOP are gonna be "did you witness the president doing anything illegal?", and the answer to that better be no, or else BOLTON will be in trouble. The other question is gonna be "in your position as national security ADVISOR, was the president under any obligation to follow your ADVICE?"
Hell, he might even say that in the end, Trump DID take his advice, 'cuz that money went to them on time!

So what do we have here? More underlings who thought they knew more than the president, which is the same thing you had in that house clusterfuck

Not one of them has thought it through that far lol.

But they’re convinced Bolton has ‘something’.

YES!

There is no guarantee about what Bolton's testimony will be. It may be more damaging to the president's position...or it may be exculpatory.

But it should be heard.

Why is the president so anxious that it not be heard?

Standard defense strategy.

Bolton is a neocon who got jacked up by the Soliani assassination. I do not know what he will say, but he was a close and important adviser. He has first-hand info .

What is the problem with his testimony if it will be so irrelevant? Give me a break! No one fights so hard to prevent testimony unless they are afraid of it. And where is the testimony from the ones who could provide exculpatory evidence and testimony? Why is that being thwarted? We all know the answer to that. It does not exist!

There wasn't any doubt Clinton lied and obstructed justice by asking his staff to lie for him. But that was still not enough to get a 2/3 Senate vote.

It wasn't a question of whether the evidence was solid but that Senators did not think he should be impeached for those charges.

Time and again we hear the question:

"In what kind of trial is the defendant denied the right to face his accuser?"

And I want to say...

In what kind of trial does the defendant overrule the prosecution's subpoenas of key witnesses?

-I guess in all those trials where the defendant seizes the powers of the bench.

I THOUGHT THAT THE STALIN-O-CRATS ALREADY PRESENTED THEIR EVIDENCE???

THE SENATE WILL ALLOW THE STALIN-O-CRATS THE SAME WITNESSES THEY CALLED TO MAKE THEIR CASE IN THE HOUSE. THEY SHOULD NOT NEED ANYMORE, SINCE THEY ALREADY FILED.

OOOPS!!!

You know that if trump and his criminal clown car had nothing to hide, he wouldn't be blocking witnesses and defying subpoenas. trump is guilty as sin.
