The Democrats vow to legalize it!

Ever notice how those that want freedoms for things they support don't have a problem with laws related to the things you mentioned?

I have noticed that. I guess it could be a coincidence, but I suspect they are just being selective

Depends on what you mean by "own bodies".

When what someone does with his/her own body produces results/problems which they can't afford to take care of themselves, does that mean care for those things can be denied even if it means death to that person?

No, because that would mean we'd have to ban everything from alcohol to chocolate to sitting down for too long.

I am proud to be a part of that party. Even though I do not smoke pot. Id much rather be around people who do, than people who drink.

So you don't believe people should be able to do with their bodies what they want. Sounds like you're the authoritarian type.

So you believe people should be able to do what they want related to their own bodies without being personally responsible for the results?

We wouldn't have to ban any of those just hold people doing things with their own body that caused harm personally responsible up to, and including, death if they couldn't personally pay for their personal choices.

should they? No matter what?

Does that mean we should eliminate drinking age? helmet laws? seat belt laws? laws against people selling their organs?

inquiring minds want to know

Notice how I said "adults." No, we shouldn't eliminate the drinking age because children shouldn't be allowed to do whatever they want with their own bodies.
As for all those other laws, sure. If an adult wants to sell their own organs or otherwise risk their life, they should have that right.

The drinking age, in most States, is 21. Someone is an adult at 18. Does that mean you believe someone is an adult at 18 or 21?

IN the debate last night every Democrat running for office vowed to legalize weed....
Trump wont say what his position is on the stuff, but he has taken 0 action to legalize it.
I guess we know which party wants to end the silly war on drugs!

How does legalizing weed end the war on drugs or stop the drug cartels from making billions on the stuff?

To a degree and it depends on the situation. If a person gets drunk, then gets into a car accident, they should be held accountable.

What experience, I've seen that those saying "exceptions" being the type that support exceptions for personal reasons only.

Well I think national security and healthcare should be federal issues. That's not personal for me, I just think they're better handled by the fedgov.
Pretty much anything else should be a state issue.

The Trumppers love the authoritarian state that keeps marijuana illegal, that way they can control more people with the law and manage more people's lives.

How is it authoritarian? Did you call the Obama administration authoritarian? Didn't they have the same policy?

Did you call the Clinton administration authoritarian? Didn't they have the same policy?

Did you call the Carter administration authoritarian? Didn't they have the same policy?

Did you call the Kennedy administration authoritarian? Didn't they have the same policy?

If this is how you argue in a courtroom, you had to be the shittiest lawyer on the planet.

Why would it depend on the situation if you believe the choice what they do with their bodies is unrestricted? Are you saying personal responsibility is relative?

While national security is based within the Constitution, healthcare is not. That means you personally want the federal government to handle healthcare not something for which they have a delegated authority.
