For starters its coming from rawstory. Of all the sources that are writing about this rawstory is the go to?

It looks like Congress exempted individuals from debt collection if the debt is owed to federal or state agencies but they did not extend exemptions from collecting debt to private debt collectors. As we know this SARES legislation was bi-partisan so I guess Pelosi et al are now deplorables too. Sounds like its still being worked out so that people will have protection and no one will have their money taken.

I did read it, and several others on the subject. You are the one that needs to explain what it is you feel I don’t understand or why you feel I am gullible. There is a law protecting stimulus money from tax debt, the CARES Act, but not private debt collectors. This money was not meant to pay debt that is past due. It is to help families buy food and cover necessities.
 
It should be up to those receiving their money how they wish to spend it, if they prefer to buy food and feed their families. instead of paying back rent, it should be the persons choice. These payments should not be garnished.
