Unemployment Rate Could Rival Great Depression’s

Another dumbass that never made it through grade school. :palm: The Government is NOTHING without the private sector you dumb fuck. You really should STFU; it's obvious your an uneducated dumbass.

Are you drunk again? This makes ZERO sense. #retard

Truly; the definition of irony. :palm:

Only because OUR Government is the reason 30 million are unemployed and businesses are closing their doors. #fuckoff

Your congress has given American people and businesses 3 trillion dollars to pump into the economy. You federal reserve system has added trillions in liquidity so that businesses can continue to function and have the liquidity needed. You aint got a clue sweetie.

Capitalism needed a socialist bailout.

LOL, you think GDP and 'government budgets' are the same thing?
You apparently have a reading comprehension problem. I never said any such thing.
YOU are wrong. And you are wrong when you say 'letting people keep more of their money means more money available in the economy'.
So you advocate theft from productive people and giving to unproductive people?? How does that help the economy????
That is not always true,
It is always true.
which was my point about who is targeted for a tax cut.
Everyone was targeted for the tax cut. You are chanting from the scripture of the Church of Karl Marx again.
Here's a simple example. Let's say we taxed Bill Gates an extra 10 million dollars, and that ten million dollars went to expanded unemployment benefits. Do you think there is now less money available in the economy? Of course not. There is actually MORE, because the velocity of that money will be increased substantially because it is in the hands of a consumer who will spend 100% of it.
Less.

You seem to forget that Bill Gates started a company that now employs 144,000 people, many with good wages. He is creating wealth too, by creating software that people want to buy.
Unproductive people do not create wealth. Therefore, printing any money without a corresponding increase in wealth only causes inflation.

Wealth is not moving to the top? Ahhhhh, not sure where you've been for the last 40 years, but it most certainly HAS moved to the top.
...discarded Holy Chart and bulverism...
Argument from randU. Wealth is created by everyone that is productive, right down to the guy writing the code at Microsoft (or Amazon, or Intel, or ...).
Money printed with a corresponding wealth increase is not inflation.

Unproductive people do not create wealth. Theft of wealth and giving to another is theft. That's what socialism is. You are arguing for socialism. You are just chanting scripture from the Church of Karl Marx.

Capitalism needed a socialist bailout.

It is socialism, and it is not a bailout. It is printing empty dollars. It is not creating wealth. The result will be inflation of course. Apparently Trump is willing to risk this inflation to bridge the gap in income for so many.

Socialism doesn't work.

The other purpose of tax cuts is to starve the government of revenue to produce artificial deficits that are then used as the excuse to extract punitive cuts to social spending to which they are fundamentally opposed, but lack the courage, will, and support to repeal through conventional legislation.

Mentally retarded bull shit. I don't call you the Marxist moron for nothing. #retard

Capitalism needed a socialist bailout.

You dumb fuck; Government Socialism was the what caused the need for a bailout. Government SHUT them down.

You're either the biggest idiot I have ever seen, or the worst liar on the planet. :palm: #retarded

You suggested that GDP was not the economy, and then you said I mistook a government budget for the economy. I can add 2+2. That's exactly what you were implying.

So you advocate theft from productive people and giving to unproductive people?? How does that help the economy????

Rhetorical nonsense. I advocate for a taxation policy that most efficiently uses each dollar in the economy. Rich people don't spend all of their disposable income. Unemployed people ALWAYS do. Is this concept difficult for you? Unemployment benefits have the highest multiplier of any government spending.

It is always true.

No it isn't. Money sitting in a mattress is basically no longer in the money supply

Everyone was targeted for the tax cut. You are chanting from the scripture of the Church of Karl Marx again.

The majority of tax cuts went to corporations, who proceeded to buy back their stock

You just flunked Econ 101.

You seem to forget that Bill Gates started a company that now employs 144,000 people, many with good wages. He is creating wealth too, by creating software that people want to buy.
Unproductive people do not create wealth. Therefore, printing any money without a corresponding increase in wealth only causes inflation.

LOL, Bill Gates no longer has anything to do with Microsoft, or any company for that matter.

Argument from randU. Wealth is created by everyone that is productive, right down to the guy writing the code at Microsoft (or Amazon, or Intel, or ...).
Money printed with a corresponding wealth increase is not inflation.

Again, nonsense. There is absolutely no disagreement that the top 1% hold a greater percentage of wealth than they did 40 years ago.

Unproductive people do not create wealth. Theft of wealth and giving to another is theft. That's what socialism is. You are arguing for socialism. You are just chanting scripture from the Church of Karl Marx.

Just a stupid talking point. Call someone a socialist when you can't respond to their point. The idea behind unemployment benefits, especially at a time like this, is to bolster consumer spending. You don't have a clue.

The entire point of the Into the Night sock is to spam threads with bad faith arguments en masse to derail and deflect away from the original point, because they know their instincts are piss poor, and seeing people knock them around on threads is a constant reminder of that.

I think this applies to several of the posters in this thread. Ignorant and arrogant is a toxic combination.

Their strategy is to simply say so many stupid things that you can't possibly respond to all of them, so some will not get addressed and the sock will take that as a victory, as Pyrrhic as it may be on an anonymous forum.

It's also a gigantic act of cowardice. But then again, Conservatism is cowardice.

The economy goes absolutely nowhere whiteout the government.
The economy doesn't need a government. People went into the wilderness and built cities and whole governments out of that wilderness. They used capitalism to do it. The each produced what they could and sold between each other their goods. That's called 'an economy'.
The alone put billions upon billions into the economy.
Governments do not create wealth.
We cold not recover without them and the Fed.
The government of the United States, and the economy of the United States, was built WITHOUT the Fed or the government of the United States.
You aint got a clue, sweetie.
Inversion fallacy.
Your government is spending trillions just to get this economy to move.
The government does not create wealth. Spending money government money for the sake of spending government money does nothing.

Hello anonymoose,

This bull market since march 23 blows me away. Hate being in the market, hate being out of the market.

I know it's crazy, right? Do they not care about the unemployment numbers? The coming defaults? The State debt? The shortfall of revenue? The Federal Debt? Personal debt? Credit card debt? Student debt? NONE of it?

Your ignorance on this topic is sublime. Just remarkable. Take an econ class. Bill Gates is not a job creator.
Bill Gates founded a company that now employs 144,000 people. Get a clue. Those are created jobs.
He buys planes, and cars, and houses that he doesn't need.
And for everyone he buys, someone builds that plane or car, someone maintains them, someone built that house, and people are hired to maintain it. All jobs created by Bill Gates.
And he gives away most of his money.
Yes he gives to charity. All successful people do.
That ten million will multiply far faster in the hands of unemployed people than in the hands of Bill Gates.
Theft is not multiplication. Justifying theft by the government to transfer the wealth from such a productive person to unproductive people (with of course the government taking their fat cut in the process) does not multiply wealth. It is theft. It couldn't be called anything else.
Anyone who knows anything about economics knows that.
You have no clue about economics.

Hello BartenderElite,

Someone should tell Trump that no one cares anymore that before this hit, it was the "greatest economy the world has ever seen."

As far as most Americans are concerned, the economy started in March. And it hasn't been good. It's not fair that Trump has to deal w/ that perception, but it IS fair that people judge him on how he has handled this crisis in terms of how it relates to their employment & the economy.

And that part of it has been a disaster so far. His constant downplaying of this in February will get played in endless loops on campaign commercials in the fall - as it should. He can save his campaign by making all the right moves now & getting us back on track in a responsible way, that doesn't create the possibility for setbacks down the line.

I wish I had more confidence he could do that.

There's no way it comes back all the way. Too much damage. Who wants to go to a restaurant, ball game or concert now or anytime until there is a vaccine?

The other purpose of tax cuts is to starve the government of revenue to produce artificial deficits that are then used as the excuse to extract punitive cuts to social spending to which they are fundamentally opposed, but lack the courage, will, and support to repeal through conventional legislation.

In other words, tax cuts are fiscal terrorism: fly planes of tax cuts into the budget, then scream jihad about the budget deficits the tax cut just created.

Deficits are caused by spending too much, not tax cuts.

The 'liquidity' is empty dollars. The result can only be one thing: inflation. There is no corresponding increase in wealth.
