Serious question here: If Floyd died from neck compression as claimed.....

....why was he able move and reposition his head and neck at various points?

I know this video only shows about one minute of an incident that lasted eight or nine minutes, but look closely at Chauvin's knee. He keeps relaxing or adjusting his weight, allowing Floyd to move his head around a little bit.

Most noticeably around the :37 point....

You can see Floyd reposition his head and Chauvin's knee seems moves a little to accommodate him as well.

So if Chauvin was intent on using lethal or brutal force on Floyd, why would he allow even the slightest movement of the head and neck?

Even by the sort of casual looking way Chavin seems to be crouched, it doesn't really look like he's bearing down on Floyd with all of his weight. One knee looks to be on the pavement behind Floyd, supporting most of his weight, the other is on the back of Floyd's head and neck and appears to just be attempting to hold him still.

All I am suggesting here, before some of you start screaming RACIST!!!!! at me, is that there are too many unanswered questions to be condemning Chauvin for at this stage.

If, when the autopsy report is released, it affirms that Floyd died as the result of a crushed windpipe or asphyxiation due to excessive weight on his neck or back etc, then I will join the choir in calling for his conviction.

But until then, I am going to remain open to all possibilities.

That's why 2nd degree murder is the appropriate charge. Once the man is in custody on the ground with cuffs on and with 3 or 4 officers on scene,
there is zero risk. Whether or not your observation takes premeditated murder 1 off the table is a good debate. That's the only reasonable debate,
did he specifically, premeditatedly intend to kill George Floyd by his actions, or was merely callously indifferent, wantonly and grossly negligent
is discharge of his duty and therefore the unlawful taking of human life lacked that specific intent but only total disregard for Floyd's life..

That's all entirely possible.

My only problem is with the automatic presumption of guilt by everyone on the left, before any of the medical details are known.

Let's just all admit that at this point, we still don't know enough to make any kind of pronouncements about who is or is not guilty of what.

I know that's no fun and what we all really want to do is argue with the other side and hurl insults back and forth, but I for some reason just have no desire to do that in this instance.

I'll admit that my hope is that it turns out to not be Chauvin's fault, for a few reasons.

One reason is that I hate to think that a cop would be as reckless and indifferent as he would have to be, to watch a guy die, knowing that he was causing it. If it were to turn out that he wasn't at fault, I would at least have a little bit of faith and trust restored, in the people who are there to protect and uphold the law.

Another reason I hope Chauvin is not guilty, is that I don't believe racism in this country is as one-sided, pervasive and deleterious to black people as we're being told it is. I still believe enough in personal responsibility to feel that a certain percentage of black people's problems stem from their own behaviors and lifestyles. In this case, Floyd was passing funny money. Maybe he didn't know it, but I think the likelihood is that he did. In short, I don't want to see this incident play into and reinforce what I believe is, if not a totally false narrative, then a somewhat overstated one.

Yet another reason is that I hate to see a cop who's served the public for so many years, not only lose his job and everything else he owns, but have to spend a decade or more in prison.

Certainly, I was sorry to see Floyd lose his life, but we won't know why he did until the medical examiner's report comes out.

If it says he was full of narcotics and suffering the internal organ damaging effects of long term drug abuse, then I'll say he got what he asked for just like my late brother in law did and which he freely admitted before he died.

If it says Chauvin's knee is what killed him, then I'll have to accept the fact that he's guilty of what everyone on the left is accusing him of and I'll have to support whatever punishment the facts and circumstances dictate.

I just wish everyone would stop making pronouncements about things that are based only on assumptions.

The cop committed pure murder
Floyd was subdued and the Cop enjoyed it and knew he was dying

Lucky for us you were there to witness it in person then perform an autopsy so you could come here and tell us of your findings, Dr. Quasar44.

No, it is not "all" on video.

The amount of weight and pressure being exerted on Floyd's neck cannot be measured by looking at a video.

What was going on inside Floyd's system cannot be ascertained by looking at a video.

If you weren't such a fucking DOLT you wouldn't have to have that explained to you.

I can put my shin bone on your neck for 10 min with max pressure and that will be ok ??
Not only are you of the lowest intelligence but you’re racist

It's amazing to me that people think racism in America is over. I've heard some say that it ended w/ civil rights in the '60's.

That's no reality. We've made amazing strides, but we still have a long way to go. That is indisputable.

Is it 100% over? Probably not. Is it as bad as the left is making it out to be? No. I mean the Karen incident in the park was definetly 100% racist as she threatened to use his race against him.

Again things have improved so much that you had to invent "systemic racism" because you cant find actual racism anymore. At least not in the quantities you desiire.

On to Chavin. He had 17? prior complaints. I bet if you look at those complaints you will see that it came from a mix of white , black, and any other color meaning Chavin was just generally an asshole and not a racist asshole.

Doing one's job as a police officer often times requires the forceful detention of a person who has been observed by and/or reported to the police for committing some sort of crime.

That does not equate to a cop creating the situation.

Chauvin was called to the scene by a local merchant for passing a fake $20 bill. If Chauvin attempted to question Floyd and he put up resistance requiring force to be used, Chauvin did not create the situation.

Quite the contrary aamof.

If Floyd passed a counterfeit $20 bill, he created the situation by breaking the law to begin with.

Depends whether he knew it was a fake $20 to begin with. We’ll probably never know that.

Floyd was sitting on the ground for a period of time after they removed him from his car. ZERO resistance. They marched him across the street where the death occurred. As he was pleading that he couldn’t breath, I saw no resistance. Did you?

Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office, which found "no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation."

You are the stupid POS! Medical Examiner states it didn't happen

So, he didn’t suffocate. It is still a homicide.

No you couldn't.

I'd toss you in the trash like a dirty rag.

Oh lookie.... there it is, right on cue.

Disagree with mommy's sheltered little sjw and you're a racist.

And it tells me I'm of the lowest intelligence. :palm:
