Not in the least. Martial arts is discipline, balance and focus. It isn't about being a 'badass'. BJJ is more useful if you get in a street brawl. Not many fights stay upright for more than a few seconds. I mentioned it because of your homophobic viewpoint on it.

Funny, that's how I got into it My kids started on it, and I just loved what it was doing for them. I ended up teaching some community ed classes, I really enjoyed that aspect of it. Most of the kids I saw were there because their parents wanted them to be more confident. I just have to laugh at people who think that makes someone a tough guy. I always told my kids, you are learning this not because it will help you fight, but because it will help you avoid a fight.

I was a student of Okinawan karate (Shorin -ryu), kung-fu and jiu jitsu in the 1970's, I'm guessing before you were born.

I even got a little bit of training from this guy...
