The thing is, it's not the Northerners or Southerners digging it back up. I'd say most of us agree with each other.
I'd never put up a Rebel flag, put a bumper or window sticker on my automobile. But others are free to, IMO. Hell,
the left wants it to be OK to burn the American flag and remove all traces of the Rebel flag. They tear down, destroy
and vandalize monuments including (but not limited to) Christoper Columbus. WTF is their problem? Racism, that's what.

Do you think Lincoln was lying in his letter to Horace Greeley or do you think it's "fake news"?

Do you believe war should be among the first considerations or the last consideration?
 
Again, Gettysburg is where the most lives were lost during the war. It should hold a reverent place in the hearts and minds of ALL Americans. It is up to them to reflect what it means to each individual.
And once again, the "morality" is a non-factor at Gettysburg. The battle fields, museums and monuments reflect nothing more than the battle there, and the turning point of the war.

there are a bunch of Marxists mixed in with ANTIFA - I know this for sure; Im a FB friend with one in Portland - the center of ANTIFA ( if there is such a thing - where the movement is strongest)
They agitate for anarchy - other groups pick up on it and become useful idiots.etc.

The whole thing is very much like the Cultural Revolution by Mao; BLM and Antifa act as the Reg Guards

Good to know you agree with me that the real lesson of Gettysburg is about values and moral principles, not about battlefield tactics and Calvary charges.. Good to know you agree with me that the educational presentation at the Park is lacking.

I agree with Lincoln view of reconstruction and reconciliation. American soldiers were fighting to preserve the Union, not tear it apart.

France executed and imprisoned its Vichy traitors. But, Lincoln showed more leniency towards Confederate traitors. And that speaks well of his judgment.

I am familiar with Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.
Maybe those of you who wish half of those honored (anywhere with memorials) be removed should read his address.
He was speaking of all who perished there, not just Union soldiers. He was speaking for, and to, ALL Americans.

Lincoln knew that. Being the wise man he was, he welcomed the defeated South
back into the Union to preserve it.

Thankfully we didn't do that, and that allowed to wounds to heal within a generation

Not thanks to the South. They resisted Reconstruction and implemented Jim Crow and Segregation.

None of that is on the plaques of the participation trophies that supposedly serve as "history".
