1/3 of children tested for COVID in FL are testing positive

Complications from flu among children in this age group can include:
Pneumonia: an illness where the lungs get infected and inflamed
Dehydration: when a child’s body loses too much water and salts, often because fluid losses are greater than from fluid intake)
Worsening of long-term medical problems like heart disease or asthma
Brain dysfunction such as encephalopathy
Sinus problems and ear infections
In rare cases, flu complications can lead to death.
Flu seasons vary in severity, however every year children are at risk
CDC estimates that since 2010, flu-related hospitalizations among children younger than 5 years old have ranged from 7,000 to 26,000 in the United States.
While relatively rare, some children die from flu each year. Since 2004-2005, flu-related deaths in children reported to CDC during regular flu seasons have ranged from 37 to 187 deaths. Even though the reported number of deaths during the 2017-2018 flu season was 187, CDC’s mathematical models that account for the underreporting of flu-related deaths in children estimate the actual number was closer to 600. Information about pediatric deaths since the 2004-2005 flu season is available in the interactive pediatric death web application.

Thanks for this info, Stretch.

It takes a real coward to come onto a thread of someone they've put on ignore (while saying in the thread they are ignoring the person's whose thread this is) just to hijack the thread and not deal with any accountability of the bullshit they post.

A total bitch move.

But Conservatives are nothing but little bitches.

When presented with information that completely undermines your argument, you retreat back to a failed comparison that you had abandoned about 2 months ago, when it stopped being convenient as the COVID death toll rose.

Remember, Stretch was here two months ago saying this is no different than the flu and was spending every day here comparing the death counts.

That is, until they couldn't make that comparison anymore because about twice as many people have died of COVID than died of the flu last year.

Translation; idiots like LyingVagina426 believe that the ONLY solution is to shut down the economy and send us back into the great depression until a cure is found.

That is how fucking dumb these hacks are. Tune them out.

No. Science has shown they do not. Read more Euro sites...they've been through this........it's the adults who give it (if and when they do) to the kids. Keep up.
They've already been studying this because they didn't lock kids out of school.

So what's your suggestion when it comes to children in general when it comes to school this fall/flu prevention? For yours?

I like the Republican version: Let the weak die off leaving only the Übermensch to survive!

It's not abortion, it's just evolution!

So wait - adults don't work in schools?

So just fill me in...if it's good enough for your family, I'd like to hear more;)

You do understand there's a requirement, don't you? I can't let you cheat by doing your homework for you. If I did so, my ethics as a teacher would be compromised.
