This is the classic retort from a religious bigot, isn't it? THEY don't have the answers, so they demand you answer their questions (even after you answer it multiple times).

It is well established in quantum mechanics that the creation of matter can be uncaused— it can spring from nothing.

It is not implausible to speculate that the singularity at the origin of the universe did not necessarily have to have a cause; that we are required to assume something had to exist before the singularity. Quantuum foam could be a plausible mechanism for the origin of the universe.

Wrapping up: No one knows how the universe originated. Seems to me that quantum fluctuations are just as plausible as the literal account in the book of Genesis. It is ultimately a question of metaphysics, not physics. I personally think we do not even yet understand the physics of how the universe originated and maybe we never will. It may always be the realm of conjecture.

I can respect your religious views Sir. And I can also respect your respect for life in the womb. My respect for a woman's choice goes beyond those respects though. But, I will not judge or demagogue you for your right to express those concerns, nor will I be sacrilegious in any way, as my own family are religious Christians- and I am the only agnostic in my family, that I know of.

Bathroom political issues are ridiculous, misunderstood, politicized, over-blown, over-thought, hate-fueling, and total unnecessary Political theater!. MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING! So I find that reaching.

I don't even doubt your personal religious commitment, however where you lose me is YOUR SUPPORT OF DONALD TRUMP and his 10 Commandment violations. In my opinion, Donald Trump has violated all 10 commandments!

If you want to highlight crimes by the Catholic Church, the Spanish Inquisition is not your strongest case. Despite its fearsome reputation in popular culture, by the standards of historical genocides, the Spanish Inquisition was pretty tame - only a few thousand people were actually executed.

If one wants to make Catholics look bad, I suggest the Jewish pogroms of the First Crusade. Entire Jewish communities in Germany were razed to the ground, and perhaps tens of thousands of Jews were murdered.

To be fair, the leaders of the Catholic Church condemned the pograms, but since Christian laypersons purporting to be on crusade committed the crimes, Christianity should own it.

On the flipside, once you open up those floodgates, the historical record of state sponsored atheism comes under scrutiny as well. The USSR proudly sponsored state atheism, and in the name of atheism mudered and persecuted millions of Orthodox, Catholic, and Baptist Christians and Muslim minorities.

This is a megatrend. The USA is simply behind the curve. Large pop. There will be bumps in the road.
I don't know if I want churches to adapt or just quit. Tough question. The long term interest of humankind is in
becoming more like Star trek. A malleable religion that sheds trappings slowly or it simply evaporating, I don't know which gets to secular more
quickly.

But it is inevitable. Not sorry either way.

actually no.......religions are growing stronger in South America, Asia and South America.........the western world is the only place that is falling into decline......the left has always wanted the US to go euro decadent......
 
All 'religions' contain two elements - what we might call Godswallop, nonsense about the Universe that will justify pretty well anything, and advice about how to behave. In America there is a huge stress on the Godswallop, and a pretty total desertion of right behaviour. No-one who had actually read and followed the New Testament could conceivably have supported Trump.
