since Leahy is a juror and presiding officer -why not make Trump a witness against himself!! :laugh:

Every member of the senate is not working on impeachment, nor are members of the house. They can walk and chew gum at the same time. The Speaker has already said that the COVID relief bill will be ready and voted on in time.

Yes, but they are still allowed the same number of witnesses. The House mangers are not the only ones who get call witnesses as was claimed by floridan, both sides are allowed witnesses.
 
Obviously from what just transpired the last 4 days, the Senate can take up whatever the heck they want because this trial
was sure never about impeachment from jump. The left knew that. This was their "purge & ban Trump" get together with no
SC judge present and no sitting president to remove. They just wanted a grandiose news conference of sorts.
Now high tide is beginning to wash up on their shores where their plans were written in sand.

Leaky is filling a role spelled out in the Constitution

I would believe they could call Trump, he never did well with direct questions as the debates showed us, but I don’t think they need to, nor would want to wait while his army of attorneys delay and postpone endlessly

And as long as it continues the more America witnesses what happened that day, it could delay Biden’s agenda, but its effect on Trump’s legacy and the GOP will be extensive

You are completely wrong. Go back to trumps first impeachment trial, when republicans controlled the Senate. They refused to allow Democrats to call witnesses.
