What lying leftists aren't telling you about the "Texas" power outages

Geography lesson for leftists:

Houston, Texas, and Cairo, Egypt are at roughly the same latitude. (If you're a DEMOCRAT, that means they're both about the same distance from the North Pole).

Neither city has ever had a winter storm like Uri, until Uri hit Houston.

How many deicers, salt trucks and and snowplows does Cairo, Egypt own and maintain "just in case"?

Idiots.

Moron, other states have them.

A road in Texarkana AR, the other side in Texarkana TX.

Power is out in many parts of WV.

Mine was out for two days and just came on last night. It sucked. Beyond freak TX weather the real issue is our power grid.

Texas is under a winter storm warning for the first time in history

They also "forgot" to mention these headlines from around the country, for some reason:

Power companies ask Iowans to conserve electricity - energy companies are implementing rolling power outages

Louisiana rolling power outages were put in place due to the strain the winter storm was putting on their power grid

What lying teabaggers aren't telling the Texas power outage.

While Texas Republicans were quick to pounce on renewable energy and to blame frozen wind turbines, the natural gas, nuclear and coal plants that provide most of the state’s energy also struggled to operate during the storm. Officials with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, the energy grid operator for most of the state, said that the state’s power system was simply no match for the deep freeze.

Energy and policy experts said Texas’ decision not to require equipment upgrades to better withstand extreme winter temperatures, and choice to operate mostly isolated from other grids in the U.S. left power system unprepared for the winter crisis.

Policy observers blamed the power system failure on the legislators and state agencies who they say did not properly heed the warnings of previous storms or account for more extreme weather events warned of by climate scientists. Instead, Texas prioritized the free market.

“Clearly we need to change our regulatory focus to protect the people, not profits,” said Tom “Smitty” Smith, a now-retired former director of Public Citizen, an Austin-based consumer advocacy group who advocated for changes after in 2011 when Texas faced a similar energy crisis.

fuckwit.

Growing up in Rockford Il 60's-70's with all above ground lines our power almost never went out....CommonWealth Edison and the political leadership did what was required to make that happened.

I have no patience with excuses for the much lower quality of work of today.

you aren't anyone's ancestor......when I grew up we had a coal burning furnace.......if the train couldn't get through and the coop ran out of coal people burned corn cobs......

My father did
My Grandfather did
My Great grandfather did but not when he was born
My Great Grandfather did but only at the end of his life.

???....what do you think "grid" means?.....they didn't even have electric power on the farm when my dad started driving.......and no one did when my grandfather was born.......I think my great grandfather was dead before the first transmission of electric power happened in 1889......the natiional grid was started in 1938......my brother was born in 1939......

Legion's geography lesson taught me more about how North Cairo is than how South youston is. Until
we reverse our carbon emissions globally we are going to suffer ever more of these unprecedented weather
events.
