Trashbag VP Harris repeatedly fails to salute military on Air Force Two, breaking with precedent

Vice President Kamala Harris is facing criticism for appearing to break with precedent and failing to salute the honor guard when boarding Air Force Two.

Video reviewed by Fox News showed that her predecessors, former Vice President Mike Pence and President Biden, regularly saluted the honor guard in the same situation.

Of course it's not required but it's a tradition, to snub the honor guard like this is a pretty shitty statement to make.

"The tradition" of "saluting" by a president or vice-president when entering Air Force One or Two...

...was started by Reagan...apparently so he could look military. It is, however, almost silly...and certainly outside of the saluting protocols of ALL branches of the US military.

Those of us who actually were in the military understand that saluting is something done only by active military personnel when in uniform...and, for the most part, only while covered. (Wearing a military cap.)

When I drive into the parking lot of the local VA Hospital...the attendant almost comes to attention and salutes. He does it as a gesture of respect for vets...and I render a return salute, but I understand it should not be returned.

Since the American right is mentally challenged, though, and bankrupt of ideas, I understand them making a big thing about this.

The funny thing is the VP is not saluting the military, it is they the military that are saluting the VP, and the reality is there is no requirement for the President or VP to return that salute, they are civilians. Seems like someone is whining about Nothing.

LOL You know you are among children when the best they can do is name call. I used to do that too and some officers would say. 'You saw me soldier!' LOL

It's just part of their usual bullshit of "The libtards hate our troops and disrespect them" meme... said with a perfectly straight face after electing and worshiping a draft dodger who calls the troops "suckers" and "losers."

Of course. The economy is perking up again, stimulus checks are out, shots are going into arms, people are traveling again (and driving up the price of gasoline), consumer confidence is rising, people are feeling more optimistic about the future than we were a year ago. Oh, and that presidential approval rating?

I am not a hero, Jerkoff...nor did I say or infer that I was. Right, Jerkoff? I never saw combat.

But I did serve.

I was in the Air Force...and served most of my time in SAC...during the mid 1950's...when SAC was the most bad-ass force ever on the planet Earth.

For the most part, I was stationed in England.

AMEN!

How they can keep a straight face with that bullshit coming out of their pie hole is beyond comprehension. But American conservatives can do straight-faced hypocrisy with aplomb.

Yep, for sure. I always keep in mind, too, that most of these bashing-Harris or bashing-Biden threads are just trolling.

The OP is a guy who accuses everyone who has mentioned military service of "stolen valor," while claiming that HE served -- but is super short on any details. So take this semi-accusation with a grain of salt. Or several, encrusting the edge of a delicious margarita. lol

Great. I am a combat vet. So next time you want to run your mouth and infer I don't understand something about the military, mind your tongue POG.

Incorrect, I accused one person who I proved stole valor of stolen valor. that person has accused many people without evidence of stolen valor.

So no truce? if you keep this up you won't be able to claim victim status from me, crybully.

Civilians look silly saluting. Shit, even soldiers look silly saluting. I thought so when I was one.

I’m sure she verbally addresses them. I always thought it was silly that they saluted, as has been stated, they aren’t officers.
