Things have changed. The right is too frustrated with the way America is going to sit around and wait for the next election. They foolishly believe they "won't have a country anymore if they don't fight like hell."
That's the problem. The person they believe in told them to "fight like hell" to save America. They are mistaken, but that's what they think they have to do. It's a real problem that such an influential figure keeps telling a big lie that is hurting America, driving her apart, dividing America, causing violence.
They continue to be a threat. We have been shown that it is not wise to assume Trump supporters will not be a threat. We cannot make that mistake again. Just as cities prepare for unfavorable verdicts in police abuse cases, America must now be ever vigilant to the threat from Trump supporters who believe the big lie and want to 'fight like hell to save America.'

And it turned out to be a one-off. They barricaded the Capitol for months for nothing. They ‘predicted’ state capitals would be stormed and not a single Trump supporter showed up at any of the 50 state capitals. Then on 4/20 something was supposed to happen—and nothing.
Just days ago, the whole country heaved a sigh of relief when Floyd jury convicted Chauvin on all counts. Had the mob not been satisfied cities would still be burning as I type this.

When there is rioting and looting at night after a peaceful daytime BLM march, that is provocateurs, not part of BLM. Late night opportunistic looters are not politically motivated. They cannot be definitively tied to the left. There is nobody on the left who argues that should be done.
We know the capitol insurrection violence of the right is definitely politically motivated because it happened after their lying leader lied to them and told them to fight like hell to save the country. They foolishly thought they were saving America, but what they were actually doing was fighting against America. They should be tried for treason.

Tearing down monuments isn’t political? Setting fire to Saint Johns on the Capitol grounds wasn’t political? The shooter that went after the Republican caucus at a softball game wasn’t political?
The Floyd jury had to ignore the threat of violence from the left if they ‘ruled wrongly’—assuming they ignored it in their verdict. Except that wasn’t political, it was cultural.
Seems the left is ‘fighting like hell’ on more than one front.
