Most countries have seen some type of mistreatment of various groups and still do. In many countries one set of inhabitants was defeated by the next rulers through slaughter, rape, pillage.....

You just lack knowledge of world history. You insinuate I am trying to defend wrongs committed by the U. S. which misses the point. I am saying the U. S. is no worse than other countries of the world that mistreat others.

The lands of American Indians was taken from previous Indians living there. They took slaves and created empires out of conquered peoples. Nazi Germany killed millions of its own people and millions from other lands it invaded. Millions died in the Soviet Union and China in political purges. Currently countries like Brazil are wiping out Indians as they develop their forests and take away land rights.

The Spanish conquest and colonization of Latin America was certainly no less destructive than segregation; or England's conquest and colonization of India and other lands.

This is not a contest about what country is the "worst" but to show inhumanity is widespread and long-term.
