First victim of political prosecution of 1/6 receives sentence

Once again, you are simply ill informed. Speculation is not fact.

I don't know why you or anyone would believe anything those people have to say for themselves.

As far as I'm concerned, he lied to get a lesser sentence.

He carried a Drumpf flag but did not have a weapon with him or attack anyone.

...that you could see in the video.

Curious, do backpacks and pants and coats not have pockets? I mean, I know they don't for women, but they certainly do for dudes.

Personally, I think 8 months is light for what he did but his taking responsibility and showing remorse are in his favor.

I guess if you buy that his remorse is genuine, which I do not and no one has any reason to believe.

His failure to turn around and leave when he saw the violence of others works against him.

I want to know what he would have done if his attack had succeeded.

No one is asking these losers that question, and I think it's pretty obvious why.

I am curious. Is there some sort of invisibility cloak for backpacks and coats only available to Trump supporters that I don't know about?

Hodgkins is wearing goggles around his neck and in other pictures is seen wearing latex gloves. But he clearly is not wearing a coat or a backpack. The prosecutors made the argument to the judge that his beliefs make him a higher threat for recidivism than a normal criminal.

At any point that day, he could have handed off weapons to other people...in fact, there was a lot of that going on that day, according to the DC police.

Weird.

Because this is the second time latex gloves have come up as an issue for intent...Rittenhouse was also wearing latex gloves when he was acting on Trump's orders in Wisconsin.

Why would any of them be wearing latex gloves, but no mask? Simple...latex gloves prevent fingerprints, and they also prevent GSR from getting on your hands.

I find the latex gloves thing entirely implicating because...why would you wear those gloves, but not a mask, if sanitary concerns were the reason?

But he clearly is not wearing a coat or a backpack.

In that image...but as I said before, at any point in that day he could have handed weapons off to anyone.

I was just going to say that I bet this isn't the last we'll have heard of this asshole...something tells me that once he's released he's going to go right back to the violence that landed him in prison in the first place.

Once again, you are simply ill informed. Speculation is not fact.

The facts are supported by video and picture evidence. He carried a Trump flag but did not have a weapon with him or attack anyone. I suggest you read the comments by the judge. 8 months is WAY too light. Every person who entered the capitol can be sentenced to up to two years, and should be. That's for starters. The time for polite conversation with these people is over.

At any point in the day, when he was not in the Capitol, what you are claiming would not have been a crime. It was only on entering the Capitol grounds that it would have been a crime. You are actually arguing that his intent was to not commit a crime if he handed off weapons before entering the Capitol You are free to be an idiot but facts require factual evidence and not idiotic speculation.

The crime Hodgkins plead guilty to had a 20 year maximum sentence. It's interesting that he only got 2 months more in jail for the felony than someone did for a misdemeanor. Of course as a felon, he will have long lasting consequences that he will have to live with. Not being able to vote in Florida and not being able to own a gun.

That's unconstitutional.

Articles I read said he is still cooperating with prosecutors, that may have something to do with his sentencing.

It wouldn't have been conspiracy to pass weapons among the people there before they attacked the Capitol?

Actually, no, my argument would be that he was in the conspiracy if he was handing off weapons to people before entering the Capitol. Distributing weapons would rope him into conspiracy charges.

Of course, I understand none of this can be proven, but neither can the inverse be proven.

All we have is the word of someone who already lied about the election being stolen.

facts require factual evidence and not idiotic speculation.

Facts also require honesty, which is not something we can trust in the people who attacked the Capitol over a lie.

Interesting comment yet not a word out of your mouth over the rioting and looting all over this country including setting fires to federal buildings while police officers were inside.
The utter hypocrisy and stupidity of the alt-lefties astound me.

Was someone caught and charged with arson?

Don’t think the sentence is a tad excessive for someone who did next to nothing?

Why not a $1000 fine and probation? Why is it necessary to destroy him? When can we have some *equity* in our legal system by applying the identical sentencing standards regardless of ideology? They having some trouble finding left wing radicals who engage in actual violence?

He broke into our capitol and stopped our congress from doing their job. People died. He got off easy for apologizing. The rest will get longer sentences. Let the rightwing shitheads sit in prison and think about what they did.

At least he might make it out of solitary. I thought we were supposed to be different than countries ruled by despots?

This says he got 8 months.
[h=1]Florida man gets 8 months in prison in 1st felony sentence from Capitol riot[/h]Paul Allard Hodgkins, 38, of Tampa, was arrested Feb. 16 and pleaded guilty last month to a single felony count of obstructing an official proceeding.

It only means he’s not an idiot.

I’m sure he watched the lefty riots all summer and came prepared if Antifa showed up. That it somehow proved he was intending to injure someone is kind of weak, to put it mildly. The defense attorney must have been asleep at the wheel on that one.

You watch the rest of these assholes, he got off easy.
