Thank God! No CRT for Virginia Grade Schoolers!!!

Yeah. The 'Open Borders' label the Democrats have is NOT helping.

Agreed. Biden's FUBAR at the border is bad. The legal discussions over Trump's border atrocity with Biden willing to settle for $450K per person is both an atrocity on Americans and a green light for every person on the planet to provoke a border incident for a big payday.

If any of the races flip, like the New Jersey one looks like it will do, the Republicans will go back to the big lie.

Every election going forward will be cultural war election...brown against white. One would think by now, the GOP playing the race card with thier white voters, that they would have learned by now...these monsters you keep scaring the shit out of, YOU NOW FEAR....KEEP THAT SHIT UP AND THEY WILL OWN YOU EVEN MORE

no. dont be such a drama queen. History will be taught in full context.
Good bad and ugly - not just the bad and ugly

You have it wrong. The drama queens are the hand ringing opponents of CRT, which is not taught in Virginia's K-12 schools. Neither do the hand ringers know what it is. Here is a lucid explanation:

"Sociologists and other scholars have long noted that racism can exist without racists. However, many Americans are not able to separate their individual identity as an American from the social institutions that govern us—these people perceive themselves as the system. Consequently, they interpret calling social institutions racist as calling them racist personally. It speaks to how normative racial ideology is to American identity that some people just cannot separate the two."

That concept is not taught to sixth graders. It's not taught to 12th graders. It might be usefully taught to adults who take personal offense when they hear of a charge of racism against an organization they belong to but have no role in administering.

Virginia Dept. of Education website promotes CRT despite McAuliffe claims it's 'never been taught' therehttps://www.foxnews.com/politics/vi...-mcauliffe-claims-its-never-been-taught-there
Virginia Department of Education website, several examples of the department promoting Critical Race Theory can be found, including a presentation from 2015, when Terry McAullife was governor, that encourages teachers to "embrace Critical Race Theory" in "order to re-engineer attitudes and belief systems."

Additionally, superintendent memo 050-19 can be found on the site from February 2019 promoting both Critical Race Theory and the idea of "white fragility."

Also in 2019, under Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam, Superintendent of Public Instruction James Lane sent a memo to Virginia public schools endorsing "Foundations of Critical Race Theory in Education," as an important "tool" that can "further spur developments in education."

"Glenn Youngkin vows to take bold stand against critical race theory as governor"
https://www.foxnews.com/media/glenn...tand-against-critical-race-theory-as-governor

"Virginia's Republican gubernatorial candidate cited Martin Luther King, Jr. as inspiration for a dramatic promise"

Whew! Looks like we dodged a bullet on this one.

Love the way FOX investigates whether CRT is taught in Virginia Public Schools by examining the speeches of Terry McCauliffe. So much simpler and more satisfying than the work of journalism.

TOTAL FUCKING LIES. PARENTS KNOW WHAT THEIR KIDS HAVE TOLD THEM WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN TAUGHT.

THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING TAUGHT THATTHEY ARE BORN "OPPRESSORS" or OPPRESSED", DEPENDING ON THEIR SKIN COLOR...

TRY SOME MORE COMPLETE LIES...

Indeed.

Good morning Sirthinksalot,

He was right. But it wasn't good optics. Naturally, the right wing spin machine went to town on it.

Parents should have their input but curriculum decisions need to be made by qualified education experts. Otherwise, we would have evangelist parents having schools teach kids we are a Christian nation. If they want to brainwash kids, let them do it in private schools.

Good morning Politalker.

I agree with your point that religion should not be taught in public schools. I also don't think teachers should be allowed to push their political views on their students. They shouldn't be teaching white children that they are oppressors, children of color that they are oppressed, teaching boys that masculinity is toxic, or that boys can be girls and girls can be boys.

The most important point I would make about your comment is this. Should only wealthy parents have the opportunity to send their kids to private schools, or should poor and middle class parents also have that option?

Nice rant but not sure who and what you are addressing.

Disagreed on your race war. It's not. This is just a continuation of the Haves vs the Have Nots War. The fact Trump has enlisted a group of racist assholes to spread lies and murder Americans is about power, not race.

FWIW, race doesn't exist as geneticists have proved. There's culture and there's variations in skin-tone, eye color, hair types, etc. Homo Sapiens Sapiens have been around for up to 300,000 years but the current "races" have only existed for about 50,000 years.

The modern world is blending cultures and people. Only the fucking lowlifes and throwbacks are seeking to stop the blending.

The fossil evidence suggests that anatomically modern humans, those with physical characteristics not too different from our own, emerged in Africa about 200,000 years ago — an exceedingly brief period in evolutionary time. These humans were part of the lineage of hominids, the family of great apes that comprises humans, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans. The branch of that family that leads to humans split off about six million years ago from the last ancestor we shared with our closest relatives, the chimpanzees; the chimpanzee’s DNA sequence is about 99 percent identical to ours. The human evolutionary tree indicates that humans did not evolve from current chimpanzees (or monkeys or gorillas or apes). Rather, both we and chimpanzees evolved from an ancestor no longer in existence who lived about six million years ago and whose various descendants would eventually give rise to two lineages, one that became us, and one that led to today’s chimpanzees.

Anatomically modern humans first appeared in sub-Saharan Africa, and groups of them ventured out of Africa around 50,000 years ago, spreading throughout the Eurasian landmass — the Mediterranean coast, Europe, Russia, and central Asia — and into Australia. They got to Siberia by 30,000 years ago, and then moved across the Bering Strait and into the Americas about 15,000 years ago, along the way inventing paper in China, mathematics in the Middle East, and country music in the United States. The key point to remember here is that humans spent about 150,000 years in Africa before they colonized the rest of the globe.

You may be right. (I bet he wishes he could take that back)

When democrats slip up and tell voters what they really believe, they often wish they could take it back, don't they? They usually get elected by tricking gullible, uninformed people.

Remember when governor blackface endorsed post birth abortion infanticide?

What happens at the school level where it matters doesn't necessarily correspond to speeches of politicians or officious websites. As in:
