Shaken by the Jan. 6 attack, Capitol workers quit jobs that once made them proud

The trauma suffered by thousands of legislative aides, police officers and blue-collar workers after the insurrection has prompted some to leave the Capitol

“There’s a dark cloud over Capitol Hill,” said Jodi Breiterman, a Capitol Police officer who submitted retirement papers in November after almost 21 years on the force, and will officially leave the agency in mid-January. “I look at officers’ faces, and they’ve changed. They’ve lost weight and they don’t know why.”

I can see why they are quitting. Must be shocking to know your fellow countrymen are trying to kill you and take over the government.

First, fuck you for making me do a spit take all over my keyboard. Second, thanks for the biggest laugh I've had all day. People are quitting municipal jobs in blue shitholes nationwide, especially the police. This cop is RETIRING, and you literally just quoted him saying “I look at officers’ faces, and they’ve changed. They’ve lost weight and they don’t know why."

And here's some stuff from that toilet paper that I would like to get your reaction to:

In any given year, staff turnover at the Capitol is constant, making it difficult to quantify the number of employees who quit or retired because of the insurrection. More than 100 U.S. Capitol Police officers had departed as of early December, a figure that was a sharp increase over the previous year.

Tyree Douglas, 34, knew long before Jan. 6 that he wanted out of his laborer job at the Capitol, where he felt underpaid and trapped after 10 years of picking up garbage, delivering cups and ice to members’ offices, and cleaning bathrooms, if needed.

"A sign of the enduring trauma, Luchette said, occurred a week or so after the insurrection, when the sounds of partying neighbors woke him up in his Navy Yard apartment. As he opened his eyes, his first thought was: “Are there Proud Boys out in the hallway?”

Luchette had considered looking for a new job before Jan. 6. By July, he had found one."

There's more, and it's all vague, whiny stuff about the "insurrection". And notice the constant use of that word. "INSURRECTION". Yet over half of those arrested so far have been charged with MISDEMEANORS! And NOT ONE has been charged with "INSURRECTION"! Same with "proud boys". All the sudden everybody is a proud boy. It's like everybody who did the blue shithole riots last year was antifa or blm, and not just some pissed off asshole.

This kind of stuff, combined with my own law enforcement experiences with daily rioting, leads me to believe that this is a bunch of BS propaganda, and you fell for it hook, line and sinker.

But yet, they willingly take less than minimum wage pay in many cases, are treated like shit by their congress critter bosses, and are even discriminated against regularly and that doesn't bother them at all...

In the majority of offices, however, interns make well below $15 an hour. Of the 235 Democrats in both chambers who have sponsored legislation establishing a $15 minimum wage, more than 140 appeared to pay their interns less than the hourly minimum they support, though it’s impossible to provide a definitive number because some offices only have interns work part-time hours, or have outside groups supplement their interns’ pay.

Two things have become painfully clear on Capitol Hill this week: Lawmakers and staffers say sexual harassment is “rampant” – but even members of Congress have no idea just how widespread the problem is.

This is largely because congress exempts itself from the very laws it passes and the rest-of-us have to obey...

They were betrayed by their leaders.

Only bad thing that day was the murder of unarmed white girl ashli babbitt by black cop michael byrd. You liberals want to censor the story but that just makes it worse. Pelosi had her goons kill ashli.

The House staffer quit after awakening one night and imagining a pack of Proud Boys amassing outside his apartment door. Another left after questioning whether strangers he encountered had helped plot the insurrection. A police officer resigned, still agitated by the frantic voices of co-workers she recalled hearing on her radio scanner that day.

“What’s the plan?” one had asked.

“I’ve got an officer down!” another had shouted.

Yawn.

A Trump coup is a present danger:

Above all, we should stop underestimating the threat facing the country. Countless times over the past six years, up to and including the events of Jan. 6, Mr. Trump and his allies openly projected their intent to do something outrageous or illegal or destructive. Every time, the common response was that they weren’t serious or that they would never succeed. How many times will we have to be proved wrong before we take it seriously? The sooner we do, the sooner we might hope to salvage a democracy that is in grave danger.

let me guess, these are quotes from their applications for disability status, right?.....

The fact that the Capital Police have been made into the Revolutions police force has got to come as a shock to many. That is not at all the job they signed up for.
