I have to say WOW! I don't typically notice the numbers when I hit the 'New Posts' button and scan down through the threads, but I did just now. Has anyone ever seen a thread get 37,000 views in just over a month? @Damocles any final ruling yet? You certainly have plenty of opinions to help guide your decision.
That said, when the high number on this thread hit my eye, I then scanned down the page and saw the 'Put Your Meme Here' thread at over a million views. That's a lot Damo, Congrats!!

I acquired a pair of pygmy goats from craigslist for free one time. Should have know there was something wrong when the guy told me his house was hard to find and he had to meet me at a mini mart. Those fuckers had every bad habit a goat could have. They bellowed all night long no matter if they were tied or loose. If you tied them they would wrap themselves up where they were getting choked and never learned not to. If you took your eye off of the male for a second he would charge and butt you. Surprised they didn't smoke. And they weren't little and cute either.
But it had a happy ending. The neighbors had a vicious dog that weighed about 100 lbs. Barked all night, postured and growled at the mail box. Some kind of long haired mutt. The dog tore the throats out of the goats one day while I was at work. Couldn't deny it because the dog had blood all over him. I told the neighbors I wasn't going to call animal control if they just got that POS the hell out. Neighbor thought I was being compassionate to the dog and never suspected how happy I was to be rid of the goats. Never saw the dog again. The end!

What type of carvings do you make? I fell a lot of trees and cut and split a lot of wood. We heat with wood. Are there specialized chains for carving?
They become food.
I'm not sure about specialized. But I have some that are tiny...
And I carve animals, furniture, mailboxes... whatever I feel like at the moment.

Is there a particular wood species that is best for carving?
