They tested the water, and it had excessive nitrogen in it. Just a cup or 3 of fertilizer would be enough to make algae bloom in that small a volume.
Fertilizer runoff is what makes red tide, too.

Phosphorus causes algae to grow. The conditions in that pool are ripe for the production of algae. Shallow, no circulation, plenty of heat, and a terrible water source with outdated pipes all contribute. The addition of any phosphorus makes that even more of a gamble.

It has been a problem for years. Obama and Trump tried a fix. Both failed. Obama didn't talk about it, Trump bragged and he fell on his face.
Costume wearing lefties marching and singing to the algae make themselves look more stupid than Trump. @Noking

Fill it with liberal tears; nothing grows in that shit.
