Trump keeps backing down. His stupidity got us into a mess that he cannot extricate himself from. He issues bigly threats about how he will launch huge attacks on Iran. Then practically nothing.Trump has even threatened nukes. He wants a way out without losing a war he started. Trump is still a teenage bully at heart who never evolved past that. His toolbox has one tool, threats .In no way is he a comptemplative adult.
Trump's war is a huge mistake. It is difficult to imagine a president doing something more stupid. But Trump is up to that.

That is exactly what Trump will be FORCED to do in the end. He is not winning this and can only hope to stop a huge economy downward spike before the midterms.

BUt at some point, Trump will say America is done while claiming a great victory by saying 'he stopped Iran from nuking America and now the rest of the world needs to fix the Strait issue'.

All ridiculous but of course his magats will clap like seals at it.

Instead, he's a demented megalomaniac who screams for people to jump and only expects them to say "How high?". He demands them to shit 2000 Patriot missiles by tomorrow and becomes angry when it can't be done.

Trump’s vacillation—his repeated threats to annihilate Iran, followed by repeated steps back—has convinced Iran that he poses no existential threat and that, therefore, they needn’t offer him a face-saving way out of his own trap.

Iran seem to be pushing for not a compromise but a win—which, in their terms, would be Iran’s ascendance as the region’s leading power (despite the bombs’ devastation) and America’s slinking away in decline.
