Diesel prices set record today

I saw someone yesterday say that 40% of American corn (which needs a lot of fertilizer) goes to ethanol.....that is straight up insane if true.

There will at least be enough food.....next winter/spring likely will be different as we burn through stocks....there is for instance a credible prediction that in Europe this years harvest will be down 40%.
I'm stocking my pantry for the first time in 10 years.

I'm stocking my pantry for the first time in 10 years.
I have long been well stocked but some tell me it will not matter as we have no guns....there are predictions that we might get to gangs going house to house stealing food at gunpoint.

There is also the not minor problem that the electricity grid might fail on its own (lack of investment/intermittent generation/AI center demands) or be taken down as WW3 (which many now argue has started) heats up.

I dont have a generator....if things get bad that would be the first thing taken.

As we watch the people in charge export crude and distillates we need be very sure that they will do the same with food.....the Irish know something about that.

Is this really a concern? So what we're paying a couple bucks more. What's the GDP of the subaltern class? Not very much.

Please elaborate with your several reasons buddy.
Americas debt is far higher, we are for instance already paying more for debt servicing than military...which is the historical place empires fail....our ability to deal with inflation by jacking interest rates are zero.

The Empire is in collapse

WW3 is likely already here

The Zionists are driving for the end of times

The human extinction movement makes no secret that they want billions of fewer humans....the death jabs are an indicator of how far they will to go.

The West has become insane.

Our so called leaders dont give a fuck about us.

The American Empire is already demonic.

The post WW2 global financial system collapse is imminent.

The masses are now brandwashed and ignorant.....there will be no saving the day with revolution

and so and and so forth.

During the 70's crisis very little infrastructure was destroyed, and it still took most of a decade to work through the negative consequences...this time already a lot of infrastructure has been damaged, it will take decade to rebuild it.....and more is gone each day.....its going to take more than a decade to rebuild.

NEW: While the United States is continuing to move “some” oil through the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani Route through Project Freedom, everyone can see the writing on the wall at this point:Too much is breaking at once.If the Saudi East-West Pipeline was destroyed in isolation? Yeah, there’d be some marginal pain on the energy markets.Sure, there’d be political fallout if diesel and gas prices in the United States were high, but if that was the only problem? Survivable. It’s the COMPOUNDING and MULTIPLE-VECTOR turmoil taking place right now around the world that makes it clear that this war is an enormous failure for the United States.Diesel in the United States is setting new all-time records on a daily basis. Gasoline set Labor Day highs and spiked yesterday in some places 30 cents OVERNIGHT. Brent is trading at $103/barrel, and WTI is sitting at $100.The Japanese Yen is still in major freefall. The South Korean stock market is down 25% in three months. Fertilizer, helium, medical supplies, petrochemicals… all not reaching the market.US Treasury’s are at the 5% mark, while mortgage rates has soared past 7%.Ansarallah is wreaking havoc on Saudi Arabia and their energy infrastructure, with massive strikes on Riyadh, Jeddah, Yanbu, Abha, and more in the last 24 hours. On top of this, they have seized effective control over the Bab al-Mandeb.While it is certainly true that the United States IS moving significant amounts of oil through the Strait of Hormuz compared to earlier in the conflict, “A lot ≠ Enough”.More than two BILLION barrels of oil have been lost from the global markets since February 28th, and while we’re losing “less” now, we’re still LOSING barrels on a daily basis, and this is ON TOP OF the enormous losses incurred over the past 6.5 months of the Iran War.The reality is clear: Too much is going wrong at once. The United States doesn’t have any good options to change the outcome of this war.The only solution is to cut a deal with Iran and bring an end to this disastrous failure from the Trump Administration.

As we look at the Iran war situation it is instructive to look at the Empires other current big war.....the war against Russia. The Anchorage Understanding was a deal proposed by the Trump administration...Witkoff had delivered it to the Russians a couple of weeks before the event. The Russians did not like it as it was slanted towards the Empire....Putin would pay a price with Russians for agreeing to such a deal......and yet they did. Trump assured the Russians that he could make it happen. Then Trump went back to Washington and nothing happened.....no one bothered to call the Russians and tell them anything.

As it turned out when Trump started doing the deal he got told by the people who run America from the shadows that no way no how was this going to happen. Trump had no choice but to follow his orders, but he did not have enough honor to call Putin and let him know that they deal was off. They had to figure this out on their own many weeks later.

Even if Trump wanted to do a deal with Iran he would not be allowed to do it.

America burns 165 million gal of diesel a day.

AAA says it costs $2.78/gal more than a year ago

that gets us to $459 million in extra costs per day.....and the price is likely to go much higher.

$459/342= $1.34 in extra cost for each person to handle today....it it will get worse.

That is their plan... But trump does not have a plan. he just does not have the mental ability to make plans.

Trump is a dandelion fluff that goes whichever way the wind blows. One adviser tells him "Let's take out Iran's leadership and then we can control their oil supply!" so he does w/o considering the (dire) consequences and the possibility of failure. He says whatever comes into his demented head w/o thinking of the repercussions, then whines like a thwarted toddler when he gets blowback.
