They would have one big problem if it passes it would be struck down as being UNCONSTITUTIONAL. it states in plain language in the Constitution that how the states decide their Electors to the EC is completely up to the State legislature .
They do NOT even need to hold elections.
And they can not tell the states how they run their state elections.

And READ the Constitution it is right there , we use the EC to elect our President and it says the state legislatures determine how their EC delegates are appointed.
If a state legislature decides just to appoint them themselves they can, they do NOT need to hold elections , but I am sure if they ever did this they would be looking for another job real fast.
