I know, you are pissed he filed charges against Trump, that were dismissed on incorrect procedural grounds, but Trump's justice department filed charges against Comey, those were dismissed.

So what is it that pisses you off about it?

As far as I can tell, and I've never followed this story closely, Smith was just your typical slimy liar... err, lawyer type. He's sort of the Saul Goodman, to use a character for reference, kind of lawyer. That is, he is / was more than willing to bend the rules, even break them, to get a conviction.

Questionable warrants and searches. Using quasi-legal means to dig dirt on those he was investigating. A willingness to cut corners to bring charges.

In the end, it got everything dismissed as it should have.

Smith is just one of the 99% of lawyers that give the other 1% a bad reputation.

What caused everything to get dismissed?

Good question. I'll scroll through to see if any of our MAGATs have recalled their #FoxTalkingPoints(tm) on that.

Go read his history shit for brains

John Luman Smith (born June 5, 1969) is an American attorney who has served in the United States Department of Justice as an assistant U.S. attorney, acting U.S. attorney, and head of the department's Public Integrity Section. He was the chief prosecutor at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, an international tribunal at The Hague tasked with investigating and prosecuting war crimes in the Kosovo War. He served as a special counsel for the Department of Justice from November 18, 2022, until his resignation on January 10, 2025.

Do you know what kind of reputation a lawyer has to accumulate to be trying war crimes in the Hague?

This man is the best of the best

and MAGA lawyers have to lie about passing the bar in china

Trump has been breaking the law and getting away with it for decades.

He embezzled money from his phony balcony charity, something folks like us would go to prison for years on, and so, that has-opened to Trump is the state sued him and he was forced to make restitution.

He lied to his bankers and insurance companies. Hundreds of millions in fraud. The state of NY sued him, he had to pay half a billion dollars back he stole. How long would we be in prison for that?

MAGA just doesn’t get it. Trump is a MAJOR CROOK. Yet the scream, and they ought to, about comparatively much lesser offenses by standard issue politicians. Trump is FAR worse.
