U.S. authorities arrested a 19-year-old Taco Bell employee in Palatine, Illinois, who allegedly plotted to massacre Hindus at a place of worship, only for the plan to be foiled when his gun failed to fire. A manifesto believed to belong to the teen was later recovered by authorities and allegedly described his dreams of committing mass murder.

Alexandros Paporakis is facing felony charges for one count of unlawful possession of a weapon and one count of making a terroristic threat, authorities announced on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. The arrest came after Paporakis' co-workers notified authorities of receiving concerning messages on Signal from the teen, which allegedly included photos of Paporakis in tactical gear, an AR-style rifle, and a document that detailed plans for a mass shooting.

Authorities believe Paporakis intended to carry out the alleged massacre on Sunday afternoon after a co-worker reported being told by him that it was going to be "a special day." Authorities suspect he planned to execute the attack alone and at a large Hindu temple located in Aurora, Illinois. They are still investigating the actual target location.

Paporakis' alleged mass shooting plot, which could have easily resulted in the death of many, was supposedly thwarted when his gun got "jammed" before making a "super fast" escape to avoid being seen, the teen told his co-worker, the prosecutors said. According to surveillance footage, Paporakis' car reportedly entered the temple parking lot at 12:25pm and exited at 12:38pm before he returned to Palatine.

A search in Paporakis' home led authorities to recover an AR-style rifle bearing no serial number, tactical equipment, multiple loaded magazines, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Other items discovered include a gas canister with slurs directed at South Asians and multiple items associated with Nazi symbolism and white supremacist extremism, prosecutors said.

Not surprisingly, the kid is whiter than snow and looks like a prideful imbecile.

Alexandros Paporakis, 19, spent years planning a mass shooting and had been targeting the temple for two months, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors allege Paporakis sent the coworker an eight-page document titled, “Why I fought: A.K.A. (Aurora Shooter’s Manifesto),” which described Indian, Jewish and African American people as “subhumans” and outlined a plot to kill as many of them as possible, according to a court document obtained by The Associated Press.

This is a Guno thread; there must be less to this story than meets the eye.

A manifesto believed to belong to the teen was later recovered by authorities and allegedly described his dreams of committing mass murder.
It must have belonged to someone else.

According to the fake news? It's probably something mild at best.

These mass shooters almost never use a shotgun, a revolver, or a bolt action hunting rifle.

Why, it's almost as if semi-automatic, high ammunition capacity rifles were made to simulate combat conditions and achieve a high body count.

It's the press, and people like you who glorify these types of weapons.
What is it with the upbringing of these kids? I was brought up around all
types of weapons and never gave using them on humans a distant thought.

There weren't military-style semiautomatic rifles with high capacity ammunition that I saw when I was a kid. At least not in large quantities.

Not in my Pop's gun collection. Not among my relatives who hunted. And I never saw them at the shooting range.

At some point a decision was made to mass produce these things, and market and sell them to pencil dicks who wanted to feel like Rambo

Crypuss, odd, yesterdays Oregon shooter used a shotgun.

Crypuss, odd, yesterdays Oregon shooter used a shotgun!

Also, that's not really a mass shooting like we've become accustomed to:

"Three children and a teacher were killed in a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, on Thursday authorities said."

Anytime you have a mass shooting where 20 or more people are gunned down, it's almost never done with revolvers, shotguns, or bolt action hunting rifles.

You could mail order a rifle from the Sears catalog.
You could buy a M1 Garrand from the local hardware store.

I bought an M1 Garrand at age 18. My father had
several semi-auto firearms in his collection. So, you're blind.
Lots of M1As and various semi- autos at the gun range
every Saturday morning. Still is. So, you're lying (as usual).

The decision was made to sell surplus rifles to the public by the Department of the Army.
