- The Gaspee affair (1772): Rhode Islanders burned a grounded customs schooner and shot its commander.

The January 6 riots were a direct attack on the capital of the United States of America. A direct attempt to overthrow our government. Millions of dollars in government property was destroyed, many police officers ended up in the hospital, some died days later. One officer was hitting the head with a fire extinguisher, another was crushed in a doorway, trying to keep the rioters out of the capital.
