Grandpa didn’t have a $90 month internet bill, a $130 phone bill, seven app subscriptions at $72 month, an Amazon addiction for $200 month, he didn’t have Netflix, Paramount or HBO for another $112 month and his haircuts didn’t need a ‘stylist’!

I’m worn out hearing people moan, “Our grandparents could buy a house on one paycheck, but now we can’t even afford rent on two!”

Yeah, maybe because Grandma wasn’t dropping half her income on $14 iced lattes and avocado toast shaped like art projects. Back then, if they wanted coffee, they boiled it at home in a dented pot. It tasted like burnt rubber and regret — but it woke you up and cleaned your pipes.

And Grandma wasn’t “out to brunch.” You think she had time for mimosas and hashtags? She was making something called whatever’s left in the fridge and feeding six people with it.
Don’t even start with Uber Eats. You think Grandpa was out here paying $38 to have a burger delivered three blocks away? Please. He grilled mystery meat on a rusted barbecue, and everyone called it dinner.

Now people cry about being broke while sitting in a house full of gadgets. Two SUVs in the driveway, six streaming services, three air fryers, and matching tattoos that cost more than their light bill. You think Grandpa had a tattoo? He did. It said “Korea, 1951,” and it came with trauma, not Instagram likes.

And the kids—Lord help us. “We can’t make ends meet, but Brayden needs the new iPhone!” No, he doesn’t. You’re handing an $1100 device to a child who still eats crayons and forgets to flush.

When we were kids, there was one phone. It hung on the wall like a family relic. The cord stretched just far enough for you to whisper secrets before someone yelled, “Get off, I need to make a call!” And guess what? We lived.

The TV? One. In the living room. With three channels and a dial that clicked like a safe. And if Dad wanted to watch bowling, you were a fan of bowling, end of story.

Now there’s a flat screen in every room, the baby’s got an iPad, the dog’s got a camera, and everyone’s wondering why they can’t afford rent.

Because you’re living like rock stars on retail salaries, that’s why.

Grandpa wasn’t leasing Teslas or buying $12 smoothies called “Green Zen Awakening.” He drove a truck that coughed smoke, rattled like a storm, and smelled like oil and hard work.
They lived within their means. Whatever Grandpa brought home on Friday — that’s what they had. They weren’t keeping up with the Joneses; they were keeping the lights on.
So yeah, Grandpa bought a house on one salary. But he also didn’t have a gym membership, three delivery apps, and emotional support crystals on his nightstand. His only support system was Grandma, who told him to quit whining and mow the yard.
Nowadays, everyone’s broke, anxious, and “manifesting abundance” while ordering tacos on DoorDash for the fourth time this week.
It’s not the economy — it’s the lifestyle.

Wake up, turn off your subscriptions, make your own coffee, and maybe—just maybe—you’ll smell the truth.

"Yes I copied this"... It’s truth....

That is what you get when you have a group of people who have lived too long under a peace that had no part in securing or made a sacrifice to secure it, that now they expect this shit to last forever.

Well somebody's triggered.

Cope.

You despicable ingrates have destroyed this civilization.

You had it all.

Excellent taxpyer funded schools.

Coherent social organization.

Pensions. Gi bill.

And the second you got old you voted it all away for everyone but yourselves. Boomers make me sick and cannot die off fast enough.

The alt right is all over the place. One minute they are complaining this is the worst time ever, and the next they are saying this is the best time ever.

My grandaunt spent $45 for a three minute phone call from NYC to London in 1940. That is the equivalent of over a $1,000 today inflation adjusted, and over $5,000 adjusted for income. In other words, she had to work the equivalent of $5,000 worth today to make a three minute phone call.

Today that communication would not only be free, but would include clear color moving pictures.

Look at what the alt right is saying is so bad... Hard working Black women with educations are hired before unqualified, lazy white men... Oh no!!! There is plenty of room for success for hard working, educated white men.

And they had to fight for decent wages and security in their old age. The world changed for the better mostly. Whites didn't have to compte with blacks back then for jobs. We were not so divided back then with social media letting everyone bitch and complain all day. But in this age most need that car, so insurance and internet access. Those are a given. Electricity is a must. Health care is a must. So lets blame coffee and streaming services. In Europe you can use trains and public transportation to lessen the need for autos. Health care and education all come from their taxes. So business can pay better without having to help pay for their health care. China has not been at war for decades. So their infrastructure and tech is now passing us at a high rate. We are a war driven economy. Makes no fuciking sense. We have a huge ocean to buffer us from wars. But the military industrial complex an old soldier warned us about was ignored. Too much money for politicians to access.

More brainless strawman. I do wish you had a functioning brain, but then, who would vote for idiots like Kamala and Biden.

A laughably clueless pile of ignorant bile. You should get out of moms basement once in a while.

The EU and UK are far more expensive places to live, with Canada a close second. The reason they rely on expensive public transportation is that they can’t afford a car or the cost to drive one. Most, in cities, use mopeds. Cheap and beats traffic jams all while being extremely dangerous and life threatening.

Most in the UK and EU rent apartments, only the elite and rich can afford a single family home and the property that comes with it.

We children of WW2 born of men who made it so the American people weren't speaking Hitler-like German, or Japanese language, by having our great boomer dads win that WW2. So take your pussified comments about our great heroes and stick them where the sun don't shine. Our great Boomer president has already made sure Iran doesn't have nukes. So again, Trump has saved your sorry ass by making sure the leading terrorist nation (Iran) doesn't get to nuke all our western nations, and made sure YOU don't get nuked to hell. See if you can digest that all in your make believe electrified head.

Yea? I can read a topographical map and do land navigation, can you? How about read a tape measure or an architect's or civil engineer's scale and take measurements off a blueprint?

Can replace basic household appliances when they die, like a water heater? Did mine last weekend. New 50-gallon unit with a Reem tank booster on it.

How about basic construction skills?

Can you do even basic maintenance on a car? I restore one from parts.
