APP - What is with the Democrats not acting on the DSA?

How could the timing be worse? The Democrats actually have a shot at regaining the House and a small chance of retaking the Senate and the DNC allows the DSA, which affiliates itself with the Democratic Party but isn’t actually part of it, whose Chair Woman (Ms. Romer) is a loud and proud Marxist (she makes no bones about having desires to seize the means of production and eliminate capitalism). Plus running candidates like Chevalier (NY 13TH Congressional District) and others with easily searched and recovered, though currently deleted, social media posts supporting Marxist Socialist views.

Here I am, a registered Republican Never Trump’er actually pushing for a Blue Wave to stymy Trump and put his Presidency into stasis until it comes, mercifully, to its conclusion (and maybe a little justice if Trump gets impeached and dethroned early) and the Democrats are trying to find, yet again, a means to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Why are the Democrats so good at tripping themselves?

Why are they allowing the DSA to do to their Party, usurp their brand, what MAGA has done to the Republicans?

Who's allowing it?

Who's allowing it?

Well, you see, the political parties are clubs. They have bylaws. They own their branding and are allowed to control who advantages themselves though its use. The DNC could very readily have in their bylaws a clause that if you have political beliefs that differentiate the candidate from the party platform so broadly that it would harm the party branding they can not run under the Reg Org Dem Party banner.

They could literally, and quite legally, have a bylaw that says, “If you support Marxist Socialist views please feel free to run under the Socialist Party of the USA (SPUSA) or the Communist Party banner but not ours.

This would put the DSA outside the Democratic Party (the DSA Chair, Ms. Romer, is an unabashed Marxist - that’s grounds enough) and take candidates like Chevalier off the Democratic Party line so their rhetoric can’t be used to paint other Democrats with in their elections. Trust me the Pubs are prepared to do just that.

Okay so the Democratic Party is not allowing Marxism and Communism in.

It is a propaganda.

it is particularly.

The problem is when they can supply rhetoric that gives its propaganda credence, like this:

In which she states:

Podcaster: ‘Do you believe in owning the means of production, as the Marxists used to say?”

Ms. Romer: “I do, yeah, yeah.”

Podcaster: ‘But you speak for whom?’

Ms. Romer: “Well, I speak for the Democratic Socialists of America and I think that you will find the demand long-term
for the working class to be in charge of the means of production is one that is pretty universally held.”

You can’t get clearer than the Marxist ideology of all former private industry now belongs to the proletariat. That is the literal death of capitalism and it has a name: Marxist Socialism.

That’s not propaganda. That is precisely calling a thing what it is.

It will be used as propaganda though to paint other Democrats.

The DNC could stop this, but they aren’t.

"Now, that is hardly a sweep of the Democratic Party"

The link I gave has the complete transcript. I didn’t take it out of context. It is what she said, and what she said is straight from the writings of Karl Marx.

My point is this is a self-inflicted wound the DNC could avoid quite simply by controlling their brand, as they have every right to do. So what that says in their not doing it is that the Reg. Org. Dems have room in their “big tent” for Marxist Socialist ideology.

That might be very broad minded, but it’s bad politics and the Pubs will use it against them.

Ok what do you think about the GOP and the Christian Nationalism?

I’m no fan but it’s religious overtones (First Amendment protections) and it’s NOT calling for politics that require a rewrite of the Constitution (in case you are unaware the turning over the means of production to the proletariat would require a rewrite of the Fifth Amendment and likely the Fourth as well) make it a far tougher punt.

I’d have no problem though strongly suggesting they could start their own political party.
